Tricked Out Tools That Treat You to Lower Withdrawal Fees to the World of Hive

I got burned trying to send USDT from KuCoin over to the HIVE blockchain so I could throw more money into Splinterlands. It is an addiction. Don't judge haha!

KuCoin wanted $30 withdrawal fee for the ERC20 network so I used their new "awesome" KCC network that was going to charge $0.10. Their documentation indicated it should work on ERC20 tokens, like USDT, and other reviews of the network I read also said the same. So, I sent a test transfer to BlockTrader.us hoping to get me some HIVE, DEC, and SPS! By $20.10, cannot wait to see you turned into delicious HIVE!

Never arrived.

I am sure I overlooked something important, but I hate hate hate to lose money in this ultra complex world of bridging blockchains and networks. So easy to mess up and kiss your money goodbye! KuCoin sent one response to my support ticket irrelevantly talking about MetaMask, but that is another story. The problem is that withdrawal fees on many of the most useful coins are crazy high on KuCoin...

I found this super super super helpful tool for looking at withdrawal fees. It is called {drumroll} WithdrawalFees.Com. I bet you never saw that coming!

I am not affiliated with this site in any way and am not sure where it came from, they have a suggestion to try an exchange called "FixedFloat" so maybe that is their sugar daddy, but it showed me the withdrawal fees for 2531 different currencies on KuCoin! Over 2500+ on a page searchable with Ctrl+F! Amazing. I love it!

I was able to cross-reference the currencies I can use to buy DEC from the Splinterlands site with the withdrawal fees on KuCoin in just a few minutes. All of the fees cited on WithdrawalFees.com matched the ones I have seen on KuCoin, but I did not check all 2500. So, you know DYR.

I found that I could send Stellar (XLM) to Splinterlands to buy DEC, and that the withdrawal fee is... wait for it... $0.007

!

I am no Isaac Newton, but $.007 is definitely less than $30.00!!

As a bonus, despite such a big day in ETH and DOT and other crypto today, XLM's trading price was super stable. Like when I was putting in my limit order I was looking at the trading ticker and typing my buy price as 0.3992_... waiting whether I should put 0.39929 or 0.39928 Haha! That was its trading range - it was like swapping USDT for another stablecoin!

From the time I sent the XLM from KuCoin (which said it could take 30 minutes) to the vendor Splinterlands uses (which said it could take another 30 minutes plus 5-10 minutes to get on-chain) was about 45 seconds. Less than a minute at a cost of $.007?

XLM I LOVE YOU!!

Hope this is useful for those of you wanting to avoid high fees! And if your SPS, DEC, HIVE, or LEO seed money is stuck on KuCoin, you now know you can at least get DEC in a handful of seconds for less than a USD penny. And swapping DEC for HIVE or any of your other faves is easy on Hive-Engine or another favorite exchange of yours.
