Rising Star - Changes We Should Know

Alright, it is unlike me to make 2 post a day, as I always felt that there should be at least a gap of one day before a subsequent post. But I guess, this is something which I felt should be known.

So recently, I was introduced by my Guild Mates from Splinterlands to try out this game called Rising Star! Upon some googling and seeking of guidance from them as well as mentors from the Hive Community, I learnt that some tips such as rushing to reach 100 missions and so on to get the free card awards.

So what happen was, I did that accordingly!

Upon reaching 100 missions, no cards were awarded. I thought that it might be a glitch, thus I worked my way to 110 missions, hoping that it may be rectified. Once again, nope. I tried to google around and ask from the wonderful folks in the Hive Community, and still no answer. In the end, I resorted to the Discord and voila, this is what I got. I am not sure if it is me being overly sensitive but this is what happened.

The moment I reach the discord, I posted a question at 2.02pm (In a nice and polite manner too in my opinion)

There were no replies. As I did not want to flood the community as it can be very inconsiderate to do so, I waited for a whopping 7hrs before I do so again. I waited after a few chats have passed, so as to not interrupt other people's conversation. This was what happened. I am not sure the person replying was an admin ( I cannot assume that person as an admin just because of a Rising Star display icon )

This was absolutely disappointing. Being a new player, I would not have known if this is suppose to be in the General or the Support chat. And if this is not the right channel, wouldn't a kind advice suffice instead of one that is so condescending? Clearly, both meant the same meaning, but there are better ways to convey than to make someone feel upset about it.

Immediately after, the next comment. Once again, probably it is just me but the next line just makes me feel as though I am a spoilt brat, complaining about privileges and all. I must stress, I am a new player that is less than 3 days old and if this is how a new player is introduced into a community, I am not sure if this is the most ideal situation. I always felt that people ask because they need help, and one should do what we can to help another. I don't know, probably it is my upbringing that teaches me to show others with respect and always help people who need it.

I do not think I am being overly critical here, and that indeed I was well mannered and polite while asking. Don't you agree?

Then again, probably he might be having a really bad day so I should have been more understanding and forgiving perhaps!

Nevertheless, I must say that the online community is far from thrashy. I met the most ridiculous people in Splinterlands, Hive and Discord. And when I said ridiculous, I meant ridiculously awesome and nice, out of one's imagination. They were so helpful and nice, it really spurs you to be more gracious.

But hey hey, for new comers, just an update. Reaching 100, 110, 120, or whatever amount of missions do not earn you anymore cards. You still do get rewarded with Starbits though. So I hope this answers all new players questions!

Although this is not favourable anymore for new players, I would still encourage people to join! It is quite fun and easy to learn. Somehow or rather, it is very addictive! So do give it a try!
