Weekly Challenge - Goblin Shaman

Alright, so not I am foreseeing a very heavy week, so would wish to make a quick post as I do not wish to waste such a wonderful opportunity like I did previously!

This week is Goblin Shaman! Once again, a card which I used to use quite a fair bit when Fire Element used to be my main, and started to use less and it has been so hard to use.

For this week's post, let us have a small twist shall we. I am going to write a post with me, against my opponent which uses the Goblin Shaman! Same as usual, I will also analyse the battle and gave a nice evaluation of it. Without further ado, here is the battle!

Now you can clearly see that my opponent is definitely wealthy, with tons of good cards and on top of that, high level cards. On the contrary, I am using 1 Legendary and the rest being stock cards. This is a typical example of Brains Over Brawns.

Now I am thankful that the Magnor is not high leveled enough to have Trample, or else I would be in trouble. With the match condition being Noxious Fumes and Taking Sides, all monsters are poisoned and I am unable to use any neutral cards.

As I am unable to use neutral cards, my favourite Almo Cambio cannot be used, with the Immunity ability that prevents it from receiving damage from the Noxious Fumes. So instead, my strategy was to have cards that can heal such as Life Leech or Heal. At the same time, I am expecting a skilled opponent, who will have his health at an odd number (because the poison takes 2 damage every turn, thus a smart player would choose an odd number health so as to survive that extra 1 turn). Therefore, I place Undead Priest with the Weaken ability reducing opponent monster health by 1, and a Skeleton Assassin just to absorb damage and at the same time, deal a quick damage. My main goal was to prolong the lives of my Haunted Spirit and Ancient Lich as much as I can, and hopefully have the opponent dead by then from the toxic fumes.

Now thanks to my Undead Priest, my opponent's Goblin Shaman with an initial health of 3, is now reduced to 2. If you realise, this was the exact same situation for my Undead Priest as well. But thankfully, the poison took effect on the opponent first before it reaches me. Had it been the other way round, I am sure I will no longer be the victorious party. Because the poison took effect on the opponent first, the death of the Goblin Shaman means that my Undead Priest will have the health back to 3, meaning that it will survive one more turn. More importantly, my Haunted Spirit to have a health of 7 instead of 6, as a total health of 6 means that the opponent's Magnor will kill me in one strike (the Magnor has enrage ability if I may add).

Do watch the match, it is quite an exciting one!

Will I use Goblin Shaman again? Hell yes. In a way, I am using the Death Version of Goblin Shaman, the Undead Priest. I am unsure of what the Chaos Legion will bring but if it does not change the gameplay by a lot, I am sure there will be many opportunities in the future for me to play this monster
