Weekly Challenge - Supply Runner
Now this is another week of Weekly Challenge, and this week it is Supply Runner! Honestly speaking, I know this guy existed but never have I attempted to use it. It deals reasonable amount of range damage and my first thoughts were that it would work well with the Life Splinter, with General Sloan that provides +1 Range damage. But well, before we head over to talk more about the challenge, I would first wish to credit and thank @alokkumar121 . During one of the post, there was a kind advise on what I can do to earn more curation rewards. I took a peek at his Weekly Challenge and this post is inspired by him, with the elements and structures of this post stemming from his (but with edits and changes for my own personal style)! So @alokkumar121 , thank you so much and hope this allows me to write better post and earn more rewards!
Card Name: Supply Runner
Mana Cost: 6
Abilities: Swiftness, Strengthen
Level: 0 - Basic Card
Damage Per Turn: 2
Edition: Chaos Legion
So now, I do not have a copy of this card yet but I still get to use it as it is part of the basic card. Now if you have read the newest updates, you would know that there are tons of changes to the rewards system and that using a basic card will reduce the amount of rewards you can get from it. There are tons of changes so if you are reading this and yet have yet to see the updates, I would really advise you to do so immediately! You can catch more of it here by the way.
Anyway, back to this guy. Supply Runner is a pretty decent monster at low level. At higher level, it has an insane speed. I am thinking, this card seems to be more useful at lower levels than higher levels. Though he is quite fine at high levels, but for a 6 mana monster I am honestly expecting a little bit more. Also as it is Ranged, it is unable to attack when at the first position. As of now, I do have a General Sloan that actually complements this monster.

My Battle Strategy and Cards Placement
First up, this is a high mana match that has rather restrictive match conditions, "Armored Up" and "Keep Your Distance". This really plays down the value of Range Attacks, as all monsters would have 2 armor, meaning that pretty much the first physical damage would be blocked. I therefore wanted to focus on a magic based attack, as well as some Ranged attackers to reinforce (as I do not have that many magic monsters). I also used a Thaddius Brood as my Summoner so as to reduce the magic damage from the enemies.
As it is a high mana match, I splurged on the monsters as I know that as of now, all my monsters added together would only hit around 50 mana. And with such restrictive match conditions, I know that I would definitely not hit the limit, thus I literally splurged and choose the best monsters for this match condition without batting an eye on the mana cost.
Now because of the match condition, I am unable to put a melee tank thus I wanted to have something that can really absorb damage. Almo Cambio was the best choice as it has 12 Health, really high and can soak up quite a bit of damage.
Next up, I have my main damage dealers consisting of Ranged and Magic attacks. I tend to put my Ranged monsters behind the Magic monsters as Magic monsters are able to attack at the first position unlike Ranged monsters. Nevertheless, Gargoya Devil was an exception as it's abilities allows it to attack from the first position, thus it was placed at the 2nd position. My main damage dealers are Magi Of Chaos and Ancient Lich, dealing 5 magic attack every turn. The remaining 2 Supply Runner and Dhampir Stalker are just there for supporting fire. Dhampir Stalker is a must have as it is golden, meaning more rewards!
Did your strategy work? What will you try differently next time?
Yups, it sure did. I was able to dish out a total of 12 damage every turn, 5 from magic attacks and 7 from ranged attacks. Well, if you take away the 2 armor that means 5 ranged damage in total every turn.
The opponent did not really stand a chance, so much so that my tank was still alive at the end of the match with 0 casualty. Everything went perfectly as planned.
Do you like the Supply Runner? Why or why not?
Well, it is not too bad. But I doubt I will be using it often. As mentioned, for it's mana cost, there are other options available. Also, with the introduction of the new system for rewards, it is unlikely I will want to use a Basic Card that I do not have.
