#29 - Is Djinn Oshannus Really Unbeatable?

The theme for the current "Share Your Battle" challenge is Defender of Truth, but I decided to share about another battle which I faced the "unbeatable" Djinn Oshannus.

I always dread facing Djinn Oshannus because I will lose 99% of the time. Somehow I have never managed to find a way to get past it and the only attempt is to use Bortus (summoner) who reduces magic damage. Even Rusty Android don't quite work. So it's not surprising when I read about players sharing on Splintertalk that they win 15 matches in a row with Djinn Oshannus.

But one day, I unexpectedly came away with a rare win against Djinn Oshannus. Let's find out how. :)

• Team Setup: To be honest, I wasn't confident of the team that I picked and 19 mana isn't a lot to work with. I like Axemaster a lot and would use him very often, so the idea was to put him at the very end (hoping there are no Sneak cards on the opposite end) and buy as much time as possible.
  
  

• Round 1: Albatross gets zapped as expected, leaving me with just one attacker, Axemaster.
  

• Round 2: 4 magic damage on Water Elemental all neutralised by double heals from Water Elemental itself and Crustacean King. Axemaster chops away 4 more damage from Djinn Oshannus.
  

• Round 3: Axemaster chops away 4 more damage and Djinn Oshannus is eliminated! Victory is almost guaranteed!
  

• Round 4: More chopping by Axemaster and there was no way they were going to get past my double healing.
  

• Round 5: We are almost done!
  

• Round 6: There we go! Except Albatross, the rest of my team remained intact.

Did the strategy work? Yes for sure. Every card played their role, from the summoner to both healers to Axemaster. It wouldn't be a victory if one of them was missing.

What will you try differently next time? I think this battle has made me realise that Djinn Oshannus is not impossible to beat.
