Am I nuts? - I just bought a Lord A for $88!

I noticed that Lord A was priced just above the Sacred Unicorn on the Splinterlands Market just now, so I just idly clicked on the purchase price to see how much DEC it was... 12000, which just happened to be what I had in my account (most of it's safe in HE).

So I bought one. (I already have an L3, this is pure asset accumulation).

From a game play perspective, the only reason I can think of for why the Unicorn is priced anywhere near Lord A is because people are buying on the basis of how pretty-cute the cards are.

NB - I did check against the prices of other Legendary neutrals, and $88 seems pretty reasonable...

Lord A is the lowest mana card, and just still the best tank for those mid mana (20-25) battles.

The reason it feels nuts is that Lord A was a reward card back in the day, my L3 is basically free from reward drops!

I am losing the plot with price-reality - this doesn't even feel like a big deal.

Lol I also have a l3 or l2 Lord A that I got purely from rewards. Every single time I get into the market, I have my jaws dropping in astonishment of the cards prices

When considering you paid with DEC, its a steal of a deal.

12000 DEC was only worth $12 not that long ago and I suspect we are headed back to that direction sooner or later. The only reason why I don't sink my DEC into more cards or sell for HIVE is due to the airdrop points they get me.

If Dec sinks in value so does the market cap!

I guess it all depends on the value of SPS!

If you've got the stomach for it the smart move might actually be to sell all of your Splinterlands assets now and then buy them back AND the SPS in 6 months time.

I have thought about it. I have set my sell order for SPS already and been trying my hand at trading Splinterland cards which been working out very well. I just don't see how SPS holds its short term value with free tokens being handed out everyday but who knows this is Splinterlands and crazy shit happens. If Splinterlands has a big announcement planned for SPS holders to vote on that could spike the price.

I believe a month or two after the One Year airdrop is up these governance tokens could be worth in the dollars. Collecting SPS (trading it/selling a portion)>>> then selling Splinterland assets and rebuying back in and is less of a headache??? I do feel there is no wrong moves here. Only moves that could gain more currency then others.

I've got accumulation mode in mind for next Spring unless the team do something crazy to encourage staking!

A single penny used for Splinterlands is a wise move imo!

I adore your deck 🤩

I still remember the days when Lord A was some 83 cents and it jumped to some $6 and it looked very costly to me.

Lord A is because people are buying on the basis of how pretty-cute the cards are

I little disagree, if you are in level 1 , Unicorn serve better purpose then Lord A. But Lord is killer at lvl 3 and above.

Fair point, but $80 is a lot to spend if you're in Level 1!
