Very thorough explanation.

Takes time this doesn't it, optimising cards!

I personally stopped levelling the chief when he picked up tank heal, I've done that with quite a lot, found their optimum around that first or second buff.

Now times that process by, what 50 or 100 cards and you're sorted!

Yes it is true that it takes a bit of time but it is also a fun activity to do ;)

I also upgraded tortisian chief to level 5.
I agree with you that there are cards that are not worth upgrading until the last level, it makes no sense especially if they acquire only one more life point.
