This week's Splinterlands Challenge of the Week was to showcase the Dragon Splinter...
And I used the opportunity to take my kitty out for a stroll and the battle below is a demonstration of her awesomeness with plus two speed, truestrike and heal she really packs a punch down at Level 1!
The Rule Set and Line Up
- Mana cap
- Standard Rules apply (Bronze League!)
Summoner - Byzantine Kitty
- Mycellic SlipSpawn - for Taunt and damage card 1
- Chicken - blast soak (not required)
- Khmer Princess - damage card 2
- Magi of the Forest - main damage card
- Goblin Psychic - Heal and damage card 4.
Did my strategy work?

- Round 1 - We trade blows, no losses
- Round 2 - Straight off the bat I take out my opponent's tank, reflect takes my Princess but I also take out his second card!
- Round 3 - Ouch! Reflect takes out the Magi, I take out my opponent's 3rd card, reflect takes out my Gobin, but at least he got a final heal in first!
- Rounds 4-7 - we trade blows, no losses, me being healed back at the end of every round!
- Round 8 - I take out my Opponent's Rift Wing
- Rounds 9 - 10 - back to trading blows, no losses
- Round 11 - It's all over, I finally take out my opponent's final card!
How important was The Kitty?
Absolutely crucial to my taunt with high health and heal strategy.
My opponent had a decent deck and reflect which was my nemesis with three magic attacks, but the double heal from the Kitty and the Goblin easily kept the SlipSpawn alive for the duration.
The extra speed was also crucial because this enable me to take out my opponent's cards before they got a shot in each round!
Final Thoughts: Byzantine Kitty - worth buying?
The Kitty is probably the best summoner on the market - and although it is a high mana card (7 mana) you get that back with the plus 2 speed, and the heal.
The problem of course is that this is also one of the more expensive cards on the market.
But if you want to play up the leagues in Champion, I'm afraid you just have to suck up the extreme cost and max one out!

I already created a SplinterLands account and spent about $10 to upgrade, but since I didn't know how to strategize the games and win in general, I went to the bots. I don't know how to win this game. Now I'm focused on Hive itself and I'd be happy to be added to your upvote list! Thanks.
