What's Happening in Splinterlands, Do You Like The New Reward System?

When I logged into Splinterlands today, I saw that my CP was high. I immediately checked my NFT cards and saw that I had rented some cards. First of all, I was surprised because I didn't rent a card. When I look at my balance history yes it looks like I have rented some cards but how? Then I looked at Configure Collection Power Rental on peakmonsters. My amazement grew even more.

Instead of removing my rental offer, I left it at 2500 CP/DEC. Because I thought it was impossible for me to rent at these prices, so I didn't remove it. Frankly, this wasn't a problem for me as I rented cards very cheaply. Afterwards, I looked at the general rental page and my amazement increased even more.

This is the first time I've seen card rental prices drop this much in Splinterlands. Prices seem normal in the purchasing section, but card rental prices are unbelievably cheap. I did some research to see what was causing this price crash and saw some confusion regarding the new reward system. Frankly, I am confused about this.

In the new reward system, if you finished the last season in the top league, you can earn high rewards if you continue the wars in the top league. But it looks like you will get less rewards if you finish last season in the diamond league and can't get back to the diamond league quickly.

As you can see from the above numbers, if a player got to Diamond league in one season but then is only playing in Bronze league next season, they may only be able to earn enough reward shares to get one Diamond chest the whole season, whereas had they stayed in Bronze the previous season then they could earn somewhere around 30 Bronze chests instead.

I don't know if there is an algorithmic error in these calculations, because we are still at the very beginning of the reward system and we will have a clearer understanding soon. But it is clear that the players are very confused.

But I want to tell you my first impressions. I don't think there's any advantage in short-term random card rentals to increase my CP. Now it seems more advantageous to rent the cards I need for a long time, because after I rise to the top, I need to not fall into the lower leagues so that I can earn more rewards.

When this is the case, it will be more advantageous for me to buy a card instead of renting it. That's why I'm going to focus on buying to stop renting cards. Yes, card rental prices will decrease more, renting cheap is a very good opportunity for many players. If you research the market well and can find the cards you need, you can earn more rewards by renting at low prices. Frankly, I don't have much time, so I won't be able to take advantage of this opportunity. I will either play in the lower leagues or buy new NFT cards. But first I want to see if this reward system works well.

Frankly, when I examine the new reward system, I am not very complaining. But I think it's a very drastic transition to the new reward system. Those who are caught unprepared by not researching well, like me, may have problems this season. I hope the new reward system will be more profitable for all players.

But above all I love Splinterlands and will continue to be in this game anyway.

What do you think about the new reward system?

I am in the same situation. So we need to see how the reward system will work. But if card prices drop, nothing will matter. For now we'll wait and see.

Excellent observation. I have still have a few standard cards I need to purchase but do not yet have the funds. Renting to cover these until then at the lower prices will be a great alternative. Thanks for sharing.

If you can find the cards you need, it is really cheap to rent.

Since I cannot follow the Splinterlands market very well, because I don't have much time so, it is more advantageous for me to buy it.

I don't really like it but that is probably my first initial thought after my friend talked to me about it. A Silver quest takes 5k points and a win in bronze gives 166. So he doesn't think it's worth it because it will take 30 wins to get a single chest. I didn't suffer too much for myself as I won a lot and I am in Silver so it seems bearable.

I'm in silver too, but I think I was punished for finishing last season in diamond 3.

It is very difficult for me to win 1 chest from daily quests. It is impossible to win the 2nd chest. There is a big problem here and I can't solve it.

I am now in Silver 3 league, and now the battles are more challenging because many opponents are renting legend cards.

I can only get 2 chests(yesterday) and 3 chests(today). While those who play in Bronze get more chests (can be more than 10 per day)

I'm in silver I. It is very difficult for me to win 1 chest from daily quests and almost impossible for me to win 2 chests. I have a big problem in my game and I can't solve it.
