What is Splinterlands all about?

It is a game like no other and will give you the most satisfying experience you will ever have had. I remember playing small DOS games like the Banania which my son used to play when he was small. I searched a lot later but couldn't find a 'modern version' of this game. That is when I joined the blockchain and came across Splinterlands in the year 2019. The rest is history.

I am now thankful I am a 'better late than never' case.

So, splinterlands involves battles and strategies. If you are new to this game, you will be confused at first but if you battle with dedication and also study the battles, not only yours but others' too, then I am sure, you will be an expert in no time and many seasons later, a leaderboard contestant too. Who knows?

I am not a better player but will try to give small bits that I picked up along the way.

Its all about placing your monsters right

If you had watched the battle above, you must have noticed that I placed the chicken at first which I learned from a former player Aamir. True, the chicken here is the sacrificial goat but it can help prevent the first damage to the main tank. In the second position, I placed the slimeball that has the redemption effect and when it falls, it reduces the health of all enemy monsters.

Did you notice that the ruleset is opportunity? So, it means I can place my monsters in whatever fashion I want. That is why I placed the thorny scorpion at the end to damage the sneaks that might attack the last monsters as always. It did.

Using poison helps more than you can imagine. It will change the game in a few moves, to be honest.

My only regret is not owning any beta summoners but to be frank, I have done well with the untamed and dice summoners. I do have the life beta and the reward Daria and these have helped a lot.

I am sure the new Chaos legion packs hold a lot of promise for the new players and instead of cashing out the game tokens, I advise you to hodl it and invest in the new packs and max your deck.

Short tips

• Read the ruleset a few times
• Do not play when you are feeling sleepy
• Make sure your tank monster has enough 'life'
• Try to include sneaks in the back end
• Commons are powerful too, so much that they are undefeatable
• Make a note of your progress in a notebook or google doc
• If and when you join a guild, make sure you get to know the other members
• Spread the word about splinterlands on social media and try to bring in family or friends
• Continous losses? Get up and play later on otherwise you might keep on losing. I know it defies logic sometimes.
• By chatting in the sl discord server, you learn new things every day.
