Guide for new splinterlands players (links included)

A lot of new players are joining splinterlands on a daily basis. As I am writing this, I see a constant flow of new users to the Splinterlands discord server which is THE place where you meet the team members and other players. The Splinterlands family is not only very helpful but also makes sure you get to progress in the game sooner than you think.

Yesterday, I read a message by a new player who did not understand the symbols and signs used, especially in the quest. So, today, I thought I will cover that topic. Of course, we veterans do not always think that new players would find this confusing, especially those who are new to gaming. Even I was and had asked my son what Melee stood for.

The release and pre-sale of the Chaos legion are nearing and we can expect huge sales within minutes probably. So, conserve your DECS and SPS and hodl it and try to buy as many as you possibly can i.e. if you are interested in continuing to play, of course. I still wish I had read Balas posts and joined Splinterlands before the betas ran out. I also wish I had bought more orbs.

Tips for new players

The above sign is the Sneak ability. If you get this for the quest, then you have to include at least one monster with this ability and complete five ranked matches to get the daily quest rewards.

Snipe

This is an example of a card with range ability. See the sign that I have tried to point out. You should include one monster with this ability and complete the daily quest to get the quest reward.

Other quests include one with Fire, Water, Earth, Life and Death and the now not so frequent - one without the neutral monsters which is the trickiest and sometimes hard because you always end up selecting the chicken without thinking.

What about trading?

Many of the new players maybe wondering about the game token dec and the airdropped sps and how it all integrates into hive. Well, you can trade dec and sps in the hive engine. That's the beauty of hive which now only many are realising. I have the feeling that many new players must be wondering why they never came across hive and splinterlands before. Okay, better late than never.
What was the beauty of Hive that I mentioned. Well, you see, you can trade using the many exchanges based on hive like hive engine, leo dex, tribal dex. You can also withdraw hive from swap hive using bee swap. It is all very easy and you will get the hang of it once you do even a single transaction.
