Scavenger - Splinterlands Battle Challenge - Browne league strategy

Ih this battle all monsters has Opportunity ability and mana cap is 16.
Opportunity: target the enemy monster with the lowest health

I decide to use Ant Miners with Scavenger ability on the back. It costs just 2 mana and has very low health at the beginning (my card has lvl1). Because of not so big mana cap in this battle I was pretty sure that my opponent is not going to use monsters with damage bigger than 2 not in first position. Problem was with Ant Miner's health - at least 2 monsters need to be killed to survive first attack (with all monsters with opportunity ability it's obvious that they will be one of their first targets). So, I decide put Chicken on the first position to lose it first. Cerberus restore 2 health to itself each round and Lava has shield so all melle and ranged attacks are reduced by 1. With this setup my team seems to be almost untouchable.

When both chickens died Ant Miners already had 3 health to survive all attacks. Lucky me that he head chicken too and did't use any life Summoner with shield.

Even Ant Miners killed one of the monsters!

After 4 rounds Ants were still alive and battle was win. Cerberus was not even touched and Living Lava was lost just one health. Huh, my opponent didn't setup his team very well. I would probably win even without Ants but how can I know it before the battle? This battle just shows that Scavenger abillity can be good to protect other monsters from attack.
