Daily Quest & Rewards - Splinterlands

Win 5 Battles with Snipe

  • Today's Daily Quest wasn't too bad. The great thing about having to use Monsters with the Snipe ability was that I could complete the quest with any Splinter.

  • For battles with low Mana, I usually use the Fire or Death Splinter. My go-to teams are Pyre as Summoner with Cereberus, Serpentine Spy, and Fire Elemental or Spark Pixies-- or Zintar as Summoner with Haunted Spirit, Twisted Jester, and Skeleton Soldier.

  • For my low-mana Fire Splinter team, I go with Pyre because he gives a plus-one, "+1", boost to all ally Monsters. Combining this with Monsters who have the highest Speed is usually pretty good.

  • For low Mana battles I play Pyre with Cerberus Serpentine Spy, Fire Elemental, and Spark Pixie due to their high Speed: 3, 3, 4, and 5. Due to Pyre's +1 Speed Boost ability, these stats are increased to 4, 4, 5, and 6. At 5 and 6 Speed, Fire Elemental and Spark Pixies become difficult for enemy monsters to hit--sometimes allowing you what feels like one or two free attacks but I've also had a few battles where the speed boost didn't stop them from getting clobbered by Melee & Ranged attacks (Magic attacks can't miss, unless their target has the Phase ability.)

  • I got a lot of low Mana battles but when I was able to I threw in Fire Beetle or Centaur from the Neutral Splinter for the Daily Quest's Snipe condition. They're both Range monsters so it's best to put them in the back, unless they have the Short Range ability which lets Range monsters fight from the front.

  • For low Mana battles, I choose Zintar as a Summoner because he decreases all enemy Melee monsters by 1. You can't use a lot of monsters in low mana battles and they're usually weak compared the Monsters you can use in larger Mana battles, so decreasing an already weaker Monster's Melee power gives you a little bit of an advantage--except if they have a good Ranged monster behind the their tank (usually their first monster), so if you're more worried about Ranged monsters you should use Contessa who weakens all enemy Ranged monsters with her ability.

  • For low Mana battles, I combine Zintar with Haunted Spirit, Twisted Jester, and Skeletal Assassin. With all enemy Melee reduced by Zintar, these guys can attack without worrying too much. Another reason I pick them is because they have pretty good Speed, except for Haunted Spirit: 3 and 4.

  • And in order to fulfill the Snipe ability requirement for the Daily Quest, I used Death Elemental whose a Magic monster card with a pretty good speed plus magic goes through Armor which is useful, or Centaur from the Neutral Splinter again.

  • These might not be the best strategies but they've worked for me on more than one occasion so I rely on them quite a bit but also try to use different line-ups since other players can see my recently played teams.

  • After completing today's Daily Quest, I was rewarded with: two legendary potions.

  • Pretty sure I can't do anything with these now but I do look forward to them helping me get more legendary cards once the booster packs are back for Chaos.

I like the explanation behind your low mana battles. It’s really useful to be able to know how your thinking about the cards and battle approach. There’s a lot to learn about this game, and articles like this help us learn.
Thanks
