Magic Tsunami, Episode 5 - Splinterlands

THE EXPLOSIVE RULER OF THE SEAS

I didn't know what kind of team to expect from this opponent and since Water Splinter was available I knew it probably had to be a team that could either counter magic-attacks or overpower it with stronger magic. I went the offensive route since the rule set took away all monster abilities which meant I had to rely on my summoner's abilities instead. I picked Alric from Water Splinter because of his "+1" Magic boost and then made a team of Djinn Oshannus, Ruler of the Seas, Ice Pixie, Medusa, and Albatross. Combined with the summoner, that made me capable of 10 points of Magic damage per round, plus an extra 2 or 4 due to Ruler of the Sea's Blast damage. Albatross was more of an afterthought and just a placeholder to protect Medusa from enemy Sneak monsters. So overall it was my 12 to 14 magic damage a round versus my opponent's 1 melee and range damage plus 6 magic damage so I was pretty confident I would win.

In the end, Djinn Oshannus took on a bit of damage but I didn't lose a single monster and Medusa took the final kill by defeating the enemy Albatross who didn't stand a chance.

I was awarded with 20 Rating and almost 6 Dark Energy Crystals.
