Magic Fire Taunt - Splinterlands

  • For this ranked match, the rule set was 58 Mana Cap which is pretty high, no Healing abilities, and no Earth or Life or Water Splinter monster and summoners allowed.

  • I usually go with Fire or Dragon in this scenario because Death is more of a magic-killing Splinter to me.

  • I've been renting Magnar the past 2 or 3 seasons and he's been a great addition to my Taunt-monster strategy teams where my front-line monster takes most of the hits while letting the rest of my team lay out the hurt on my opponent without getting damaged or defeated for at least a round or two.

  • For this Fire Splinter match, I had an attack-sponge melee tank, another strong melee monster with the Reach ability so they could attack from 2nd, another strong melee with Sneak to apply pressure to my opponent's backline, two heavy hitting magic monsters, and a heavy Sneak for extra enemy back-line pressue.

  • In the end, it was a close battle where I lost two strong monsters in the first rond and won just barely at the last.
