Ranged cards can also defend, meet Queen of Crows

avatar

Ranged cards have a major weakness which is not being able to attack in the first position and because of that sometimes they are not chosen for battle, but Queen of Crows does not have this weakness and in this post I will talk about it.

Who is the Queen of Crows?

Queen of Crows is a rare card that recently arrived in Splinterlands through the Riftwatchers edition and perhaps it is still not very common to find her in battles precisely because she is recent and has few cards in circulation, but have no doubt that she will be very useful if you to use.

First let's start talking about how to find the card so you have access to all its information and to do this it's very simple because you'll only need to go to the marketplace and filter by: Edition - Riftwatchers / Rarity - Rare / Element - Death / Role - Monsters. After doing that you will see the Queen of Crows card and you will just need to click on it.

You will have access to 5 parts after doing this which are Cards, For Sale, For Rent, Stats and Lore.

CARDS

The first part is Cards and in it you will find how many Queen of Crows cards you have (either rented or yours) and their level. In this part you will also be able to level up the card and also select it to sell, rent or transfer to another player.

For Sale

The second part is the For Sale and in it you will find other players selling Queen of Crows cards and you will just need to select them to buy for DEC or Credits.

For Rent

The third part is For Rent and in it you will find other players renting Queen of Crows cards and you will only need to select which one you want to rent and pay in DEC or in Credits.

STATS

The fourth part is the Stats and in it you will find all the information you need about the card, such as attack, speed, life and abilities. It will also show what the Queen of Crows has at each level.

In the case of Queen of Crows it is a ranged card and has a total of 4 abilities which are Close Range, Headwinds, Slow and Return Fire.

In terms of attack she is not the best choice but she will be very useful defending as she has a large amount of health and her abilities will help her.

Its Close range ability allows it to be able to attack in first position so don't be afraid to use Queen of Crows as a defensive card because it won't be useless if it's in first position like other ranged cards.

His Headwinds ability is a debuff and will decrease the ranged attack of all opponent's cards by 1 and this is a great way to decrease the amount of damage your opponent can do to your cards.

His Slow ability is also a debuff and will decrease the speed of all opponent's cards by 1. The less speed the opponent has, the greater the chances of his card attacking first since the card with the highest speed attacks first.

Its Return Fire ability will make Queen of Crows return part of the damage received on it by ranged cards and as this type of card is common in battles, it will be a good choice to cause more damage to your opponent.

Despite having little attack and a high mana cost, Queen of Crows is an excellent card to have in battle because in addition to having a good amount of life that will make her a good defense, she also has great debuff abilities that will help all your cards in battle.

The fifth and final part is the Lore and I'll leave it below in case you're curious to read it.

LORE

Born Marissa Maewyn in a small village on the outskirts of Lyveria on the continent of Anumun, the Queen of Crows has had the power to speak to and control crows even as a child. Others ostracized her for her unusual ability, and she grew up an outcast. Her crows were her only companions, and she used them to defend herself against those who sought to harm her because they feared what she could do.

She spent her adolescence in study of the dark arts and became enthralled with Alturia Dragonforth, the Dark Enchantress and Lagfael’s Queen, who originally hailed from nearby Lyveria. In time, Marissa’s enthrallment turned to envy. She fantasized about journeying to Mortis, replacing the Dark Enchantress, and joining with the Lord of Darkness in an unholy union.

As her power grew, so did the townsfolk’s fear, and one night, a mob of them broke into her home. Her parents were killed defending her, and in her rage and sorrow, Marissa commanded her crows to slay those responsible... along with everyone else in the village.

Afterward, she traveled across the seas to Beluroc on the continent of Mortis. Here, she consolidates her power and aids the Dark Eternals in their quest to bring the world to the one true darkness. She works diligently and quietly, all the while attempting to gain the attention and favor of the Lord of Darkness and realize her ambition of ruling at his side.

“Marissa, have mercy!” he screamed as the crows fell upon him, a whirlwind of caws and black feathers.

“Mercy?” Marissa laughed. “My children will pluck your eyes from your head to spare you the sight of them feasting on your flesh. That’s the only mercy you’ll get from the Queen of Crows.”
