What's better for EOS? Higher League or Lower League?

I have decided to start keeping tabs on my EOS rewards and figure out whether it is better to be in a lower league and get more chests or a higher league with less chests. These have been the 4 EOS rewards since the change in how EOS is calculated:

As you can see in my first EOS I was earning silver chests and managed to earn 74 of them. It totalled $7.78 at the time and contained 1 GF, 1 pack and not a bad amount of DEC. I was fairly pleased with this one.

My 2nd EOS however was an absolute disaster! I was earning gold chests and got 52 of them and somehow only totalled $1.80, it's safe to say I was a little pissed off with those rewards!

My 3rd EOS was a little better - again earning gold chests and racked up a slightly better 61. Managed to pull 4 GFs with a good amount of DEC totalling $5.57.

My latest EOS was the best so far - again gold chests and only managed 52 this time around but pulled 2 Legendary, 1 GF, good DEC and totalled $9.22.

For this upcoming season I have decided to play for silver chests and stay in the silver league and see how it compares, I will then play the following season for silver chests but in gold league so I should earn a nice amount more chests that way. It'll certainly be interesting to see the difference and then make a decision as to which way is best to play in future.
