In this series about the Steem Blockchain game, which is free by the way, called SPLINTERLANDS, I am documenting my experiences as I play and progress into the higher ranking leagues. Hopefully this will help others along in their journey into the Splinterlands as well.

Today I wanted to post a brief update about the end of Splinterland Season and the rewards. As many of you know, battling your way into higher leagues gets you more rewards at the end of the season, which lasts for 15 days. The most recent season ended earlier today, and rewards were dispersed to all players.

I battled very hard this past season. I learned quite a bit about tactics and Splinter battle traits. I then purchased some splinters in order to level them up and make them more battle worthy. Reinforced with both knowledge and leveled up Splinters, I made a run for Gold League Level 1, and was successful in making into this league.

Gold League Level 1 rewards players with 30 Splinters at the end of the season. This is what drove me to battle my way up into Gold League Level 1. I wasn't sure I would make it as the hours wound down towards the season ending but fortunately, as I stated in my previous post, there are some favorable hours for newbs like myself when the better players are sleeping. I took advantage of these hours and finally broke through into Gold League Level 1 before the end of season.

I eagerly opened my rewards once I had a chance. Before I actually turned them over ( I like to turn them over 1 by 1, more exciting that way), I placed the mouse over the cards and the ones that are Epic, Rare or legendary have a different glow when the mouse is over them. I them turned over the ones I thought were the weaker one, and then proceeded to the ones I thought would be better Splinters.

Then I turned this one card over, and it made a loud rumbling noise as I turned it over. It turned out to be a most amazing LEGENDARY WATER MONSTER. This Water Monster turned out to be a very powerful Splinter, The Kraken. I immediately put the Kraken to use, and was able to Level up into Silver League Level 1.
