Greeting my frineds and rivals, and welcome to my weekly challenge post.

The weekly challnge revolve around Dragons.

Until recently dragon splinter was my least favorite. I pretty much neglected it while investing in fire and earth. Recently however I rediscovered this splinter, and it is among my favorites. The versatility and strategies that this splinter allows are amazing. And the new splinter cards are the icing on the cake.

The current post will present a strategy for use with dragons splinter. There are lots of strategies that can be created using the dragons (e.g. Delwyn Dragonscale with death splinter).

The combination of strategy is:
Dragons Splinter + Life Splinter.

The concept is to take advantage of the healers from the Life Splinter along with monsters that are capable of causing serious enough damage from the Splinters of the Dragons.

Strength and weakness and usefulness

Strategy strength:

  • A combination of durability over time in battle, along with the ability to cause quite a bit of damage.

Strategy weakness:

  • Relatively costy compared to the alternatives.

When to use:

  • The opponent does not use a lot of magic monsters.
  • There is meduim mana cap: 17-35. when the mana cap is bigger then that, the healers will probably not be particularly useful.

Preparing for battle

Points I took into account when I prepared for this battle:

  • Small mana cap, but not too small.
  • My opponent didn't use magic monster at all in his last battles.
  • My opponent used alot of melee attack monster, a cue to pull out my Mylor Crowling. But since the earth splinter could not be used. I preferred to choose a monster that has the thorns ability.

The key points in my startegy was:

  1. Drake of Arnak for the extra sheild (This is critical as a protection for my healers).
  2. Djinn Chwala for the throns ability.
  3. Venari Crystalsmith + Divine Healer + Armorsmith as healers.
  4. Naga Assassin for as a back liner for her high speed stats.

Well as you can see my opponent. My opponent pretty much met my expectations. He did not use magic monsters at all.

This is what the battlefield looks like at the end of the first round:

At the end of second round:

At the end of third round:

Well at this point its clear that my opponent is finish.

conclusion and free writing

This battle was pretty anemic in my opinion, and I had a hard time deciding whether to share it or not.

I decided yes to share it because there is quite a bit to learn from this battle. The following tips may sound superfluous to the experienced among you but for beginners these tips may be very helpful.

  1. Diversity Diversity Diversity. Do not create the same teams over and over again with the same attack styles - it makes them super predictable and easy targets.

  2. Try to create a synergy between your monsters. One of the mistakes my opponent made is that he used monsters that attack various monsters from my team. While one monster attacks my backliner another monster attacks the one in the other position (snipe ability) and another targets the tank. In this way it is difficult to eliminate monsters. I instead concentrated my attack on his tank, and after eliminating him all the rest fell one after the other.

  3. Try not to lean on an entire team of archers. this is ineffective since the second the tank in the frontline falls, the archers lose their ability to attack. Try to place at least 2 monsters with melee or magic on the front line.

@dua4197 Hope those tips will help you to see what you did wrong in this battle so our next battle will be more intersting (Yes I know I sound condescending, apologize for that. But there is no better way to learn from examining the mistakes we have made ... I promise you I make no less mistakes than you)
