How Can the Serpent of Eld Evade Noxious Fumes? Is This A Bug? Or Is There Something I Don't Know?

I had an interesting battle today and something happened that I couldn't understand. Is there something I don't know or is this a bug in the game?

Rule of Battle: Noxious Fumes: All Monsters start the battle Poisoned.

Serpent of Eld was not affected by this rule, and did not start the battle with poisoned until the end of the battle.

This is the first time I have encountered such a situation, maybe there is something I don't know? Maybe a bug in the game? It has been a very interesting situation for me. I will be glad if the players who know answer.

yea, is a tricky one.
is probably a bug, or sth to do with the River Nymph?

River Nymph was absent in the last 2 rounds.

ok, the River Nymph has cleansing ability. it removes all the bad things that affect the first monster, like fumes, affliction, stun, and other things. she did that on the first round, no need to stay afterwards.
