Playing a game like Splinterlands is all about finding the best synergy between cards. There are a lot of cards that may seem "useless" or "boring" at first sight but can really make a difference when combined with certain other cards or abilities.

We all know of combos like Llama + Kron and Llama + Hydra. A combo that I personally like to use for life is Chanseus + Kralus especially in the Weak Magic ruleset. Recently though, I unintentionally used a combo that really shocked me at how effective it was. This combo was Llama + Regal Peryton in the Enrage ruleset. Here is how the match went...

At this point I already skipped to results but I was shocked when it said that I won. I watched the battle again and was even more shocked at how it happened;

What happened was that when Regal Peryton got the last stand ability activated, his health increased to 12, damage to 3 and speed to 9. Thanks to the high speed and the Flying ability, the other monster missed Regal Peryton a couple of times before Deeplurker hit him and his speed got to a massive 14. This is the highest speed I have achieved in the game and at this point, the other monsters could not hit Regal Peryton. Altogether, they missed him 18 times before the match ended in my victory. It's crazy for me that Regal Peryton took out 5 of these monster on his own. Maybe I got really lucky with the dodge. I don't know how dodge chance is calculated.

Getting Things Done!

I started to really get serious with the SPS airdrop about 20 days before it ended. The day I really got to learn about how airdrop points worked, I got my points to over 520k. By the end of the airdrop, I managed to receive 623 SPS tokens which is a lot more that what I would have gotten if I did not treat the airdrop as a priority when I did.

With the SPS airdrop finally over, I can finally use all my DEC in pools to really build up my decks. For now, I have decided to focus on building Earth, Life and Fire decks for silver. My Earth Chaos Legion Deck is almost complete but I just started building Life and Fire. Here are the cards I bought this week;

I previously planned to build my Earth deck first before going to any other splinter but I decided it would be wiser to watch all the cards for the right time to buy them. The summoners were kinda cheap so I just bought a ton of them and leveled the up. I had one Djinn Biljka that I got from a chest but given that the price was under a dollar, I decided to just but two more to get the guy to level 2.

The cards that I am really happy to own are Adelade and Uriel. I've been watching these cards for weeks and I saw the opportunity to buy them when the got significantly low in price. Adelade in particular is a card that I really love and use all the time. I'm glad I got to but the card at a lower price.

IN OTHER DEVELOPMENTS...

Two weeks ago I mentioned that I am a member of a guild, Forbidden Summoners. Well, I've been having a really good time with my guild members fighting brawls and just chatting about stuff on the discord server. Recently, I was able to earn enough merits from the brawls and chests to buy my first Gladius Case. Here's what I got from it;

Two rares isn't bad for a start. Since there's nothing else to do with merits, I guess I'll just keep buying Gladius Cases for the collection power the cards have to offer. Maybe I can even get lucky and get a Gold Foil Epic like someone in my Guild did.
