SHARE YOUR BATTLE WEEKLY CHALLENGE!đMycelic Slipspawn
Hello there and welcome to my entry for this week's SHARE YOUR BATTLE CHALLENGE. This week we're battling with my favorite element, Earth, and to make our quest easier we are to seek some help from creepy Mycelic Slipspawn. Let's get into it!
THE MYCELIC SLIPSPAWN
The Mycelic Slipspawn does not look so interesting at first glance but itâs not so bad if you give it a chance. This monster starts with a speed and damage of 2 but gets a buff to its speed at level 3 and a buff to damage at level 6. This monsterâs health starts at an impressive 10 before getting a plus at level 2 and reaching a max of 12 at level 7.
As for the abilities, the Mycelic Slipspawn has the Taunt ability right from level 1. The abilities donât end there because at level 4 he gains Forcefield and at level 8 he gains Slow.
Iâm going to use the Mycelic Slipspawn at level 4.
The Combat Rules and My Strategy

Strategy
I need to hit hard and fast. The faster I can do some fatal blast damage the less the chances the enemy has to attack me.
I also need to reduce the blast damage done to my team by drawing fire to a single point.
SUMMONER | |
---|---|
NAME | OBSIDIAN |
SPLINTER | EARTH |
EDITION | CHAOS LEGION |
RARITY | RARE |
LEVEL | 4 |
MANA COST | 4 |
BUFFS | +1 MAGIC DAMAGE |
The only Earth summoner I have is Obsidian and she hardly disappoints me. For this battle, her +1 magic buff would be helpful to increase both normal and blast damages to health.
MONSTER 1 | |
---|---|
NAME | MYCELIC SLIPSPAWN |
SPLINTER | EARTH |
EDITION | CHAOS LEGION |
RARITY | RARE |
LEVEL | 4 |
MANA COST | 9 |
ATTACK | 2X MAGIC ATTACK |
SPEED | 3X |
HEALTH | 11X |
TOUGHNESS | 0 |
ABILITIES | TAUNT, FORCEFIELD |
I said I want to draw fire and what better monster for the job than the star of the show himself. The Mycelic Slipspawnâs taunt ability will ensure that the enemy only fires at the front. That is, if they donât have a scattershot.
MONSTER 2 | |
---|---|
NAME | VENATOR KINJO |
SPLINTER | NEUTRAL |
EDITION | REWARD |
RARITY | LEGENDARY |
LEVEL | 2 |
MANA COST | 2 |
ATTACK | 1X MELEE ATTACK |
SPEED | 2X |
HEALTH | 2X |
TOUGHNESS | 0 |
ABILITIES | REFLECTION SHIELD, CAMOUFLAGE |
Now that I have drawn the fire, I need to defend against the blast. Thankfully, Venator Kinjo is the man for the job. Not only will this guyâs Reflection Shield stop the blast but the Equalizer ruleset makes him a good secondary tank.
MONSTER 3 | |
---|---|
NAME | CENTAURI MAGE |
SPLINTER | EARTH |
EDITION | REWARD |
RARITY | RARE |
LEVEL | 4 |
MANA COST | 7 |
ATTACK | 2X MAGIC ATTACK |
SPEED | 3X |
HEALTH | 10X |
TOUGHNESS | 0 |
ABILITIES | RETURN FIRE |
Next is the Centauri Mage. Why? Because of his Return Fire Ability. When Venator Kinjo gets to the front and if he gets hit by range damage, the blast will hit Centauri but this monster will return some of that damage to the enemy.
MONSTER 4 | |
---|---|
NAME | SAND WORM |
SPLINTER | NEUTRAL |
EDITION | REWARD |
RARITY | COMMON |
LEVEL | 5 |
MANA COST | 9 |
ATTACK | 6X MELEE ATTACK |
SPEED | 3X |
HEALTH | 6X |
TOUGHNESS | 0 |
ABILITIES | SNEAK |
Normally I would prefer to focus my attacks at the front whenever I get the Equalizer ruleset but I could not resist Sand Wormâs 6x melee damage and sneak. With this monster, I can do some significant direct and blast damage at the back.
MONSTER 5 | |
---|---|
NAME | MITICA HEADHUNTER |
SPLINTER | EARTH |
EDITION | UNTAMED |
RARITY | EIC |
LEVEL | 3 |
MANA COST | 8 |
ATTACK | 8X RANGE ATTACK |
SPEED | 8X |
HEALTH | 6X |
TOUGHNESS | 0 |
ABILITIES | SNARE |
With a x5 damage and speed, I just could not resist using the Mitica Headhunter. The best part is that this monsterâs speed will get to 6 thanks to the last guy on the lineupâŚ
MONSTER 6 | |
---|---|
NAME | SUPPLY RUNNER |
SPLINTER | NEUTRAL |
EDITION | CHAOS LEGION |
RARITY | COMMON |
LEVEL | 5 |
MANA COST | 6 |
ATTACK | 2X RANGE ATTACK |
SPEED | 4X |
HEALTH | 5X |
TOUGHNESS | 0 |
ABILITIES | SWIFTNESS |
Last but definitely not the least is the Supply Runner. I mentioned in my strategy that I wanted to hit the enemy hard and fast. Well, the Supply Runner will give everyone a speed buff with his swiftness ability.
The Battle Highlights
My Splinter | Enemy's Splinter |
---|---|
Round 1:
- The enemy's monsters attacked just the Mycelic Slipspawn but Venator Kinjo was able to defend against any blast.
- All my monsters attacked the enemy's Living Lava except Sand Worm who attacked Djinn Apprentice.
- At the end of Round 1 Myceli Slipspawn was taken out.
Round 2:
- All the enemy monsters attack Venator Kinjo.
- Centauri Mage returns blast damage to Spark Pixies, Fire elemental and Lava Launcher.
- Sand Worm takes out Djinn Apprentice.
Round 3:
- The enemy finally takes out Venator Kinjo but not before Lava Launcher is killed.
- Sand Worm destroys the pesky Serpentine Spy.
Round 4:
- Mitica Headhunter destroys the Spark Pixies.
- Supply Runner deals the final blow that takes down the Fire Elemental. DEFEATED!
Victory!
Even when given equal health, the fire team could not match up to the Earth team. What a joke! Well, I guess there can only be one winning team.

Did My Strategy Work?
Yes it absolutely did. Mycelic Slipspawnâs Taunt was able to draw the damage to the front and prevent any blast damage with the help of Kinjoâs Reflection Shield. Even when Slipspawn died and Kinjo got to the front, Centauri Mageâs return fire did some damage after he got hit with blast.
Also, hitting the monster fast was a great idea. Sand Worm was able to take out the enemyâs Djinn Apprentice before he was able to do a damage a second time.
Do I like the Mycelic Slipspawn
Yes I really do. The Mycelic Slipspawnâs taunt is a very powerful ability but this monster does not last as long as other monster with taunt. That would be a con for the Slipspawn but the Forcefield ability makes up for that in some way. So the right thing to say is that I like this monster at level 4 and above.
