The Runicore Hype!

Last week, I wrote about the fact that I was not sure if I wanted to participate in the Riftwatchers presale and get some packs or just wait for the cards to be released and get the ones I really need. It was a tough choice for me because I really wanted to buy 50 packs and be guaranteed a promo card but I had to consider the financial consequences. So, after weighing my pros and cons, I decided to just chill the hell out and wait for the cards.

Well, I'm glad I made that decision because I did not expect the sale to be a whale party. Within a couple of minutes, all the presale packs were gone. I was definitely not prepared for that struggle but I'm willing to go through it to get in the new hype - Runicore.

I was recently just going through YouTube when I saw a video by Bulldog about Runicore. It wasn't until after I read the announcement post that I truly understood what it was all about and became really interested. Having some experience with other NFT projects, I quickly recognized the potentials that this project offers and it is something I really would not want to miss out on.

I would say that building this project on the Ethereum Blockchain is a good idea. Splinterlands has had a lot of success on Hive but putting Runicore on Ethereum will open doors of possibility to the entire NFT ecosystem given that it is the most popular blockchain for NFTs. It is not unrealistic to say that these cards can possibly attain a significant value in the general NFT community especially considering the fact that they can be used in the game. Also, it's a smart way to drive attention to Splinterlands. Just imagine what would happen to other assets when people start flooding in. In the end, everyone wins!

I think the Runi cards are pretty interesting and so far I don't have any complaints about them. For one, I like the mid 6 mana cost because owners would be able to play them at almost any mana cap. It also goes without saying that making these cards neutral was also a good idea. That new Rebirth ability is the real kicker about these cards because it makes them so much more unique. I hope the team does not create future cards with this ability.

I also like the fact that these cards would be minted at max level. It would have been a disaster trying to buy other Runi just to level up your card. That would have been a nightmare especially for players in the top leagues. Making them all max level means they would be ready to be used in any league by anyone.

Plans to get a Runi?

Of course I have plans to get a Runi. I have never been as confident with an NFT project as I am with Runicore. I have witnessed a lot of success in splinterlands and so I believe I can really trust this project. After what I saw with Riftwatchers though, I know that there would be some serious competition to get these NFTs. Still, I'm going to try because you never know.

First, I'm going to try to get a whitelist spot on Thursday. I already bought some vouchers for that;

If I don't get a whitelist spot, I may still try my best to mint a Runi when the minting begins. Splinterlands provided 30 days for the minting but with the hype I expect all the Runi to be minted really fast. So yeah, it's going to be one heck of a bumpy ride but I'm up for it. I got nothing to lose.
