Radiated Brute: A Beast of its Kind

radiated brute - thumbnail.png

RADIATED BRUTE is one of the two monsters that I own that have the REACH ability.
I generally love to use this monster whenever I use TARSA as my summoner.
She can attack from the second position with a powerful melee attack.
She also have an above average health that is fitting for a SECONDARY TANK.

Check out this battle as it demonstrates how valuable RADIATED BRUTE is.

But before we proceed, let’s have a quick look first on her stats and abilities.

Stats and Abilities

Based on the stats above, I prefer my RADIATED BRUTE to be at least level 4 for an increased MELEE ATTACK.
This will give my team additional advantage if the opponent will be using the starter cards.

AbilityDescription
ReachMelee attack monsters with the Reach ability may attack from the second position on the team.
Available at LEVEL 1
EnrageHas increased Melee attack and Speed when damaged.
Available at LEVEL 6.

Battle Prep and Strategic Planning

Rules of Combat

radiated brute - rules of battle.png

Considering the rules of battle, I’m choosing FIRE for this battle for various reasons.

First, I cannot use EARTH as magic cannot be used.
My EARTH deck is strong when magic is involved.

Second, my LIFE deck, on the other hand, is also strong when using RANGED attackers.
However, RANGED attackers are mainly good on FRONTAL and SNIPE attacks.

I don't want to focus only on FRONTAL attacks.
I want also to SNEAK in a major portion of my attack power.
The main reason for this is that the front can be easily defended.
Also, if I’m gonna be facing Quix the Devious then, he can weaken my RANGED firepower.

Thus, I will be choosing TARSA under the FIRE splinter because of her level and abilities.

Battle Stations

Summoner: Tarsa

I chose Tarsa as she is the only FIRE summoner that I have leveled up.
As my SNEAK attackers are MELEE, her abilities can make them extra POWERFUL.

1st Position: Living Lava

The LOST MAGIC ruleset makes magic attackers unusable.
This means, only PHYSICAL ATTACKERS will be used on this specific battle.

I need a hard PRIMARY TANK.
Living lava is perfect for this position.
It has the SHIELD ability, an ARMOR and a huge amount of HEALTH.

2nd Position: Radiated Brute

I also needed a secondary tank that can also attack from the second position.

I choose Radiated Brute as she can REACH the opposing team from this position.
She also has ample amount of HEALTH suitable for a SECONDARY TANK.
Plus she is a MELEE ATTACKER which is more preferable under TARSA.

3rd Position: Scorch Fiend

The last monster that I chose for this battle to maximize the team slot.

I positioned it here to act as my teams’ first line of defense against OPPORTUNITY attacks.

4th Position: Serpentine Spy

As always, I don’t want my team to concentrate their attack on the front as it is mostly heavy defended.

I want also to attack somewhere on the backline. Serpentine Spy is one such damage dealer.
Its OPPORTUNITY ability enables it to attack the enemy with the lowest health.

Again, it is a MELEE attacker so TARSA can also increase both its attack and health.

I positioned it here where it is defended from FRONTAL and SNEAK attacks.

5th Position: Uraeus

One of my teams' SNEAK ATTACKER.
It is an attacker dedicated to eliminate the rare most member of the opposing team.

Also, this monster requires only 3 mana but comes with 2(+1) attack and an armor.

I positioned it here as my teams’ secondary defense against SNEAK attacks.

6th Position: Tenyii Striker

Another SNEAK attacker.
I positioned it last because of his high health.
It’s my teams’ first defense against SNEAK attacks.
His health is high enough to take some SNEAKS.

Post Battle Analysis

Phew!

Good thing I didn’t concentrate on frontal attacks alone or I could have lost.
The opponent went with a hard tank/attacker in front and powerful ranged attackers at the back.

My SNEAK ATTACKERS did a good job eliminating Prismologist on the early rounds.
If not for them, then my primary and secondary tanks could not have lasted long enough.

RADIATED BRUTE also proved to be a valuable 2nd position attacker and a secondary tank.
If not for her, then my back line attackers could not have the chance to decimate the opponents.

Overall, my team did a great job!

Final Thoughts

REACH is a very useful ability that enables the first and second monsters to work together.
The REACHING monster can free attack while utilizing the main tanks defenses.

Whenever I use REACH, I always thought of a SHIELD and a SPEAR.
The monster in the first position is the shield while the one reaching is the spear. 😁

I generally love to use RADIATED BRUTE for this purpose as it has powerful melee attack of 3 (+1) at its current level.
In addition, it has also above average health which is suitable for a secondary tank.
It’s one of my most preferable monsters under Tarsa.
