Playing with the Life Splinter gives choices

I've been using Earth splinter almost exclusively in my gaming, until today, when I started using the LIFE splinter for the daily quest.

It took a bit for me to figure out the differences with the two summoners:

Tyrus Paladium give +1 to Armor, which may be the best option.

Per the rules:

Enemy combatants must first deplete a character’s Armor before any damage can be applied to the defender’s health. If an attacker destroy’s a defender’s Armor, any extra damage from the attack is lost.

That means that if an attack is going to whallop a card with armor, the armor will absorb all the damage from that attack without harm coming to the card.

To me that seems to be a bit better than a simple increase in health, which is what Mother Khala offers.

Mother Khala is the other Starter Life Summoner. Gives +1 to Health.

Like I said, I think that since the rest of the damage from an attack would be lost while the armor breaks, that may be the better option....

... with one HUGE exception: Magic attacks ignore armor. The idea of using armor to offcast the additional damage on a single attack is great unless the attacker uses magic. Magic always hits and ignores armor.

In those instances, you can use Mother Khala to give you the extra health.

Well, I am a complete noob in this game, and already the choices even with the starter cards are enjoyable to consider. Each time I play a battle I look for reasons why a specific battle turned da certain way.

I appreciate the fact that the game promotes using multiple splinters via quests. I know a bit more about using cards from this splinter, and feel better prepared when I am going against Light players. It's not my cup of tea, but the heals are nice. :)

What's your strategy on the low levels?

I'm just now learning how to play and could use any recommendations you can give. Please leave a post below and let's chat about your playing strategies.

Peace and Love,

-Rob

Best time to learn is at the beginning, I always say. Just beware of Water with Magic as the magic will bypass any armor and hit the health. Different splinters have their advantages and disadvantages against other splinters.

I'm also new to SPT and am still learning every day. However, I did win a couple of 12 & 15 matches tonight:

12
Zintar Mortalis
Haunted Spirit
Twisted Jester

15
Tyrus Paladium
Silvershield Paladin
Centaur
Divine Healer

The strategy for the 12 Mana match came from a post I read by @luizeba:

The 15 match win was based on some of my own game play experience. Well that and some random luck because you never know who you'll go up against in Splinterlands.

Congrats on completing your first Daily Quest. I look forward to them every day. Cheers!
