Social Media Challenge: Splinterlands Weekly + mini Brawl Report (May 13 - May 20)

Greetings everyone, hope everyone is doing well. On my end, I am not so well as I've been tested positive for COVID-19 and recuperating at home. Nevertheless, I still want to spend some time to share with you all about this amazing game Splinterlands that I have been playing all these while.

So let's get started with how my collection power increased since the last update.

Finally some good growth especially with 3 epic cards gotten within the past week. I am so glad there is significant growth. From the Gladius pack, it is so coincidental that I've gotten Chimney Wallstop which is the featured card in the Social Media Challenge title picture for this week. Praying for more growth and definitely to pick up some cards with the new changes coming up.

Mini Brawl Report
Why did I saw this is a mini Brawl Report, it is because I didn't manage to capture the reports of my Brawl because all my opponent didn't field their lineup prior to my fielding.

Everyone was real fast in grabbing up frays so I end up with a gold foil fray which I do not have much in my inventory. I did not want to miss out on the Brawl, so what i did was to trigger first match and rent the gold foil version of the summoner.

So i rented:

And together with what I already had in my inventory, I took faith and set my lineup.

There is 5 matchup to overcome, and how did my makeshift squad fare?

Guild ended at rank 3 which is a very decent result. I managed to secure 2 wins out of 5 battles with my makeshift squad. This gold foil fray is really tough due to my limited inventory (and yes, normal Gladius cards cannot be fielded, need their Gold Foil version to be fielded).

On a side note, I do see opportunity to make things better for upcoming brawls.

We should assign fray based on the collection of the members, players with super high CP should not be entering novice frays.

Next, pooling all gold foil resources together to be delegated to members whom are competing in gold frays to make it more effective.

Getting Ready for the New Reward System

Exciting times to come with this new rewards system. And I am thankful that the developers have heard us and constantly making changes to help improve the gaming environment and ecosystem.

I am getting ready my shopping list to keep my lineup relevant so that I won't get penalised for using starter cards that I do not own.

To start off, I will be purchasing the last CL summoner that I do not own which is Earth Splinter, Obsidian.

Next, I will be running through the list of starter cards that I most frequently use and keep watch of the prices in the market. Things such as Living Lava, Mustang, Serpent of Eld, Mantoid, Tenyii Striker, Time Mage, etc

After which will be to strengthen them one by one as I grow.

Thoughts about Splinterlands Journey
I am loving this game so much even when I am down with COVID-19, I still want to share my thoughts about this journey with you guys.

The shower of care and concern, advise on how to ease my symptoms given by my #metafrens group really warms my heart.

With the community whom are supportive and developers whom are always listening to the ground, this is a game that I am so glad I have started playing.
