New Reward Cards - Neutral

Welcome guys to the review of the new rewards cards. In this article, we are reviewing the Neutral Splinter. New cards are very interesting and I hope that it will be the same with the Chaos Legion expansion. At the moment prices of the new cards are going up and down. We will see where those card prices will stop.

We currently have these cards only for a few weeks and new reward cards are not played that often. Meta may change. That would mean that this review could be a bit off in the future, so consider this while reading.

Uraeus - An interesting card for the Neutral splinter. I would say that this is a better version of the Elven Cutthroat. I like that one extra armor because it enables you to use this card in the last position without fear of enemy Sneak monsters.

Sneak - Targets the last Monster on the enemy Team instead of the first Monster.

Sneak ability is great and I see that Uraeus will be often used against Llama + Kron combo. An additional +1 attack in the Bronze league is also a big plus for me.

Poison - Attacks have a chance (50%) to apply poison, which does automatic damage to the target at the beginning of each round after the poison is applied. Poison does 2 damage each end of the turn and is not affected by shield or void.

On higher levels, Uraeus will get Poison, an amazing ability that will add +2 damage to his attack. This ability has a 50% chance to apply. It is especially useful against big tanks like Kraken or Djinn Oshanus.

At the moment Uraeus sells for 3 USD per BCX. I would like to see it a bit cheaper but I don't know if we are going to see that due to many new players.

Gargoya Devil - An interesting card because of new ability. It looks like a card that could be used against the Llama+Kron combo. Low health is a downside but due to 1 armor, it still has some kind of defense.

Flying - Has an increased chance (25%) of evading Melee or Ranged attacks from Monsters who do not have the Flying ability.

Flying is an interesting ability on Gargoya Devil as it gives him chance to evade some melee and ranged attacks. I don't see evading as a thing when we are talking about Gargoya Devil due to his low speed.

Close Range - Monsters with the Close Range ability can perform ranged attacks from the first position.

Close range is a much-needed ability that will be used in the last turn in a 1 vs 1 situation. That way Gargoya Devil can use his Deathblow ability.

Deathblow - This Monster does 2x damage if their target is the only Monster left on the enemy team.

On higher levels, Gargoya Devil gets Deathblow ability which doubles his attack. That means he can do 6 damage per turn. I believe this is still too low to beat the Llama+Kron combo on his own so there will have to be some kind of healing tank if we want to use Gargoya Devil as Llama+Kron counter.

At this moment you can buy Gargoya Devil for 0.55 USD per BCX. I would say it is still a bit high for my taste but not a bad buy. I would be happier if I could get it for 0.3-0.4 USD per BCX.

Gargoya Lion - I am not impressed by this card and I would say it is the worst card in the new reward set. There is not anything special about this card except Void ability on level 5. You can find way better choices for 6 mana.

Flying - Has an increased chance of evading Melee or Ranged attacks from Monsters who do not have the Flying ability.

Flying is an ability that is always nice to have. Other monsters without Flying ability have a 25% chance of missing Gargoya Lion. The downside is really bad speed so I don't see that Gargoya Lion will evade attacks that often.

Void - Reduced damage from Magic attacks.

Void is an ability that makes a good tank. Reduced damage is always a good thing. Unfortunately, there are way better tanks in the Silver league than Gargoya Lion. On the other hand, if you want to level up the tank on the budget Gargoya Lion could be a decent choice for you.

Enrage - Has increased Melee attack and Speed when damaged.

A big health pool means that Enrage ability will work well. It feels good when you get hit with 1 or 2 magic damage and your armor remains intact but your speed and damage get multiplied by 1.5. At that moment Gargoya Lion becomes a more viable solution.

Gargoya Lion is currently priced at 0.15 USD per BCX. I hope that this card will go a bit more down in price. I will try to level it up to at least level 5 for that Void ability.

Summary

I hope that you are enjoying new reward cards the same as I am. There are quite a few interesting cards that we could see more often in the future. For now, I am not buying anything as I am expecting prices to drop due to a surplus of freshly printed cards.
