Share your battle with Angelic Mandarin

Angelic Mandarin is an interesting card. At this moment you can buy 1 BCX for about 0.20 USD. This guy shines in the Silver league and beyond. In the Silver league, he gets Triage, an ability that will heal a damaged monster in your backline. Luckily, Water splinter has the perfect monster to work in pair with Angelic Mandarin and that is Wave Brood. Yes, this ranged beast with Taunt and Void is a perfect backline tank. When supported with Angelic Mandarin he gets a nasty heal of +4 every turn. Due to his Void ability Wave Brood is really good against magic damage. If I feel extra tanky I would add into this combination Spirit Hoarder as well. Double Triage makes Wave Brood extra resilient and your opponent will have a really tough time with this combo.

So, let me explain why I picked some of the monsters in that team.

Djinn Oshannus - I would say that this is one of the most underrated cards in the game at the moment. He is really cheap, a carry legendary card that sells for 2.28 USD per BCX. That is insane. Imagine what would happen if the new Water legendary summoner has a +1 magic attack. I decided on him as a tank because of his Forcefield ability. People will often play Diemonshark that when enraged has 5 attack. That is a perfect case in which my Djinn Oshannus will get only 1 damage when attacked because of his Forcefield ability. Brilliant right? Even better is that Djinn Oshannus is faster so Diemonshark will be enraged on turn one. This is Splinterlands 101, how to counter some of the most used teams.

Angelic Mandarin - you want this monster on level 4 when he gets Triage ability that will heal your backline. It does not have the sense to use it before that as it does not provide any support and its damage is bad and it will often be blocked by Shield ability completely. That is why I always try to pick monsters that have at least 2 attacks, of course, if they don't provide some other kind of benefit. Ideally, you want this guy to be level 5. It is then when he gets 2 damage. On max level, he gets Silence too. That is one additional plus to the combo that I described earlier. Just an amazing card and I would say a must-have if you are playing in the Gold league and beyond.

Doctor Blight - a card that is often overlooked but it is so powerful that is a must-have if you are playing in the Silver league and beyond. I don't own this card but I rather rent it because is really expensive. Affliction and Poison abilities are amazing but when Scavenger comes into play this card is a real beast. I lost to this card so many times as it was the only card left on the field but with 10+ health. If you are not using this guy then you must start as soon as possible.

Wave Brood - as I already said, an amazing card that often serves as an off-tank in the back of your team. Or better to say as a second tank. It can survive for a long time when supported by Triage ability, or sometimes with double Triage. I often use it when I predict that my opponent will use the magic team. It is a must-have for any serious Water splinter deck.

Summary

The battle that I showed is a classic Water splinter team with two tanks. Sometimes you will heal only one, sometimes you will heal both. Merdaali Guardian is often used in setups like this as she can Heal tank and Repair armor to a target in your team. There are many combinations with Angelic Mandarin as it is a very good card and one that you should add to your deck before its price goes into the sky.

It is the perfect time to buy some cards and rebuild your deck. Packs are not selling as fast as expected so prices are stable. I expect them to go down even more once we sell more packs.
