Welcome guys to another "Share your battle" weekly challenge. This time we are playing with Goblin Shaman. I often use Goblin Shaman in the low Bronze league, and using it in the high Silver league will be a challenge as I don't have many cards leveled up.

If you are new here, #splinterlands is the amazing #NFT trading card game with #play2earn model. That means you can have a lot of fun AND you can earn money (DEC - Dark Energy Crystals) at the same time. If you don't have an account yet consider registering with my link.

About Goblin Shaman

Goblin Shaman is a common Fire Splinter card that belongs to the Alfa/Beta set. He is great support due to his Weaken and Slow abilities. I like that he is at least on level 3 for that +1 magic damage.

Lore

Goblins are everywhere in the Burning Lands, but they are all larger and stronger than the Goblins of Anumün. The Goblin Shaman of the Smoldering Forest are especially skilled in slowing and weakening their enemies with enchantments. Many of them can hypnotize with a simple gaze from their blood-red eyes.

The Battle
I will not write about what happened in the battle as it is tedious to write something you can watch in under a minute. I will focus more on strategy and why I chose this setup for the battle. I hope that this will help new players with the thinking process when assembling a team.

My Strategy

My plan was to buff my team using Malric Inferno with +1 melee damage and at the same time debuff the enemy team with Goblin Shaman. This combo makes my monsters do +2 damage to enemy health. I used durable Lava Elemental in the first spot so my other monster could finish the job.

Did it work?

Since I won the game it worked. I play to work more on the blast strategy while using Goblin Shaman. Fire Elemental and Pyromancer are monsters that come to my mind. This is especially good if opponent plays low health monster in the second position.

Would I change anything now?

I think that this is the first time I would not change anything in my team. Everything worked really well so there is no need for changes. Of course, I would like I could use some better cards but hey, a win is a win 😀

Cards that I used and why?

As you already know, all cards have some positive and negative sides. In the end, it all falls to how you use them and in what combination. Always remember, every card has its role, no matter how small.

Malric Inferno - I went for Malric Inferno because of +1 melee attack buff. This buff is very strong in the lover leagues including the Silver league.

With Goblin Shaman Weaken ability Malric Inferno is even better as it makes 2 health difference in your opponent's health.

Living Lava - One of my favorite cards in the Fire Splinter. Living lava is an amazing tank with big damage. Only downside is his poor speed, but you cant have everything for 7 mana cost.

Shield - Reduced damage from Melee and Ranged attacks

Shield ability is amazing and it is the reason thy Living Lava is such a great tank. With 6 health and 2 armor, it takes quite a few hits to kill this tank. With +1 buff from Malric Inferno Living Lava deals serious damage, which often can finish the job that your backline started.

Fineas Rage - An amazing card for the second spot in your team due to high health wich means Fineas Rage can tank some blast hits from your opponent.

Reach - Melee attack Monsters with the Reach ability may attack from the second position on the team.

Reach ability allows this monster to attack from the second position. With +1 melee buff from Malric Inferno and high speed, Fineas Rage is not a joke. Fineas Rage is even better in the Silver league with one extra attack.

Goblin Shaman - I often Goblin Shaman in the lower league battles when every health matters. I used it in combination with Malric Inferno to further boost my melee attacks.

Weaken - Reduces the Health of all enemy Monsters.

Weaken ability is great for making opponents monsters vulnerable to blast attacks and for boosting your attack. I think that this would work even better with magic attacks, especially if monsters do have the blast ability. This card is even better on level 3 when he gets 1 magic damage. That way you will not use him only for his ability.

Kobold Miner - Realy cheap card that in combination with Malric Inferno deals decent damage. I love it because it can fit in any team and it is good in combination with Sand Worm as it has a higher speed.

Sneak - Targets the last Monster on the enemy Team instead of the first Monster.

That means it will get rid of that armor or Divine Shield and allow your Sand Worm to finish the target. I will often play more than one Sneak monster because sometimes there is a monster with Heal ability in the last spot and if you have only one Sneak attacker that monster will not be able to kill Heal monster on its own.

Cards that would be good with this setup

I really love the setup I played. The only thing I would like is maxed level cards for the Silver league, but hey, that day could come in the future. Other interesting cards I would like to play are Pyromancer and Fire Elemental because of the Blast ability.

Summary

It was interesting to play with Goblin Shaman and use his Weaken ability. Support cards do have a very big role in this game and they can often shift the course of the game in your favor. Of course, if used right.
