Gargoya Scrapper as a anti magic tank, yes!

Hello everyone and welcome again!

The Focus have done many important things for the game and that is very good, I am very happy because yesterday I got Dhampir Infiltrator, which was one of the Reward cards I was most looking forward to get, my deck has been growing and also my level of play because this new system pushes you to improve or simply fall into oblivion, there is no middle ground, and in the middle of all that appears this challenge that sounds quite difficult but today I will show you that every card is good, all have utility at specific times and that is why it is important to collect as many as possible. .. so welcome!

If I remember correctly the Season Chest of Silver 2 in the previous system was 18 chests, this season I think I will reach triple that. But this post is about Gargoya Scrapper, the Life element anti-magic mini tank, a card that right now has a lot of drawbacks but will soon become a very desirable one, when Grandmaster Rathe is available to play.

In case you don't know it...

Introducing Gargoya Scrapper!

Edition: CHAOS LEGION.

Rarity: COMMON.

Element: LIFE.

Attack: MELEE.

Mana Cost: 1 point.

Abilities:

  • Void at lvl 3

An as the lore says:

When the Chaos Legion entered the Splinterlands through the rift in Mount Praetorius and laid to ruin the great castle of the Gargoya, many of the stone gargoyles fled across the sea and scattered to other continents. However, some remained in the rubble, searching for a way to rebuild their kingdom. These became known as Scrappers.

Scrappers despise the Chaos Legion for destroying their home. Now, they seek the knowledge to create more of their kind and, using what they learn, build more Gargoya. Across the Splinterlands, they have established workstations to grow their numbers and advance their culture, creating Gargoyas of countless sizes and varieties.

Their ultimate goal is to avenge their fallen brethren, rebuild their home, and see to the defeat of the Chaos Legion.
Shiv pulled the smoldering clay from the furnace with a crooked grin. Gripping the tongs tightly, they turned to the table behind them. Multiple Gargoyan eyes looked on as Shiv maneuvered the heated clay into place. Their eyes followed the movement as it was placed onto the top of a stone creature.

The near perfectly carved stone bust of an incomplete Gargoya stood still. Whispers from the surrounding Gargoya filled the room. Shiv grabbed a dull knife, barely larger than themself and clambered to the top of a ladder next to the creature.

With great precision, Shiv carved holes for eyes, a nose, and a mouth into the newly appointed stone face of the creature. Their work had only just begun.

How to use the Gargoya Scrapper?

Because of its ability, the ideal is to use it as an anti magic tank, the problem is that it has very low stats and there are not many cards that support it, in fact only two cards have the Silence ability in Splinter Vida and there are no anti magic summoners in this element (for now) so finding a use where it is really decisive, is difficult, but when the rulesets appear, is when you start to get the juice out of Gargoya Scrapper.

My battle is a good demonstration of that.

And for last, My Battle!

Round 1.

image.png

The ruleset is determinant for cards like Gargoya Scrapper, the Explosive Weaponry was going to be a problem but my opponent played with earth magic, which has a big flaw and is that almost all his cards are very slow.

  • Gargoya Scrapper is a completely different card in this battle, because thanks to the Equalizer I have a tank with Void and 12 life for only 1 mana.

  • Pelacor Conjurer is in second position because of the Magic Reflect, the ground magic is focused on always attacking my tank and as there is Explosive Weaponry, my Pelacor Conjurer was going to return all the damage received from the enemy magic.

  • Time Mage is here to slow down the opponent's cards and make my cards have more advantage, and Magic damage with Blast is always dangerous.

  • Crystal Werewolf is what ends up making Gargoya Scrapper the star of the team, because it cancels the enemy summoner and makes my tank take very little damage per turn.

  • Adelade Brightwing ended up being more important than I thought, the truth is that I placed it just in case I had to revive my Gargoya but the Armor repair was also very important.

  • Silvershield Sheriff was going to be in charge of massacring my opponent with that Snipe and 4 points of damage, that is, 8 points of damage per turn distributed among my enemy's cards.

Round 2.

image.png

The alignment did its job magnificently, while only 2 of my cards had been damaged, 4 opponents had already suffered damage, round 1 and 2 was quite fair, at the beginning of round 3 still no card had fallen, the Armor repair of my Adelade was fundamental to make my Gargoya last longer on the field.

separador.png

Round 3.

image.png

In round 3 my Pelacor Conjurer fell and my Sheriff missed his attack, damaging my strategy a bit as I planned to revive my Gargoya and with that attack kill 2 cards and take the lead.

separador.png

Round 4.

image.png

Things started badly for my team in round 4, but the accumulated damage that my cards were doing with the Blast started to take its toll on my opponent, who lost 2 cards in that round.

separador.png

Round 5.

image.png

By this time the battle was already assured, the real threat of my opponent was the Goblin Psychic that had no chance against my Sheriff, and the blast damage would finish him off, however the rest of the battle was very exciting. If you want to see the full battle just click on the link below:

Want to see the battle?.

As I always say in these posts, all cards, no matter how good or bad they may seem, have their moments of glory and also their bad side, it's up to you as a player to use them as they should be and take advantage of them in your victories, play many battles, practice and you will become a better player little by little.

Thank you very much for reading my post, I hope to see you in the next one, see you soon!

This is a great example of a rule set taking a card many probably overlook and making it downright dominant in the right team.

That's right, each card has its moment to shine at its best, so to speak, so we should not discard any of them. !PIZZA !PGM

Buena batalla. Gargoya Scrapper la veo una carta para jugarla solo en condiciones de batalla muy concretas y que, para rendir bien, tiene que estar acompañada también de cartas muy determinadas. A mi personalmente no me gusta. Lo que si me ha gustado es tu batalla y tu explicación dándole un sentido a la carta de esta semana. ¡Enhorabuena y gracias por tu contenido!
