Warrior, choose your weapon!

The release of steem-engine tokens has been subjectively fruitful, apparently. There are plenty tokens surfacing with a variety of use cases and some that have are connected to an interface of it's own.

This has led to many, including me, taking a closer look at steem-engine and the various tokens listed. I also ventured into that brave world of day-trading within the exchange and learning a lot about blockchain, trading, tokens and interfaces.
In terms of trading, there have been some missteps and oversights, which feel like they were more of a learning curve than anything. In a nutshell, I have gained a lot of knowledge, new tokens and am standing in the green.

I am, however, more interested in the different platforms popping up. The tokens have now provided a wide range of options to choose from and indulge in. Until recently I knew of 3: SPT, SCT and PAL.

SPT is a perfect place for SM/SPT related posts and acts as an exclusive hub to keep up with all the relevant updates, thoughts, contests and posts.
PALNET is an all rounder with a focus on organic content creation and it's recognition.
SCT is the hot girl that winks at you when you are out on a date with your longterm girlfriend. The reason I say this is because it took me way too long to realize what it is and it's use case. Turned out to be a similar concept with a valuable token. Had it not been for the language barrier I could have bought in for cheap and gotten involved with the interface.

However, all of them work similarly with a thin line of difference that sets them apart, including the token price.
The reason I started to love them is because of the 50/50 rewards distribution between curator and author.

2 days back a couple of friends and I were discussing the future of steem-engine, SMTs, prospects and also trading potential when I came across actnearn. As it turns out, actnearn is also another interface based on steem-engine that works very similarly to the 3 mentioned above.
It is a tradable, stakable token with its own interface, and using #actnearn on your posts will add it to the website and you can earn actnearn. As of the moment actnearn is doing well on steem-engine.

The thin line of difference still exists. Yes, you can add #actnearn to your post and earn ACTN through author rewards, stake your tokens and earn ACTN through curation rewards
BUT
the difference lies within the account - @actnearn.
The account holds a stake of 5 000 000.00 ACTNEARN and upvotes posts within the platform. Most notably if you write a post about actnearn, retweet actearn tweets and use share2steem , S2S an original tweet about actnearn using the relevant #tags, and promoting actnearn to social media.
As for now actnearn is yet to catch the wave of mass adoption. It is yet another way to enjoy, earn, contribute and interact with the steem blockchain.
I have noticed a wide number of people using #actnearn but I do not think many of them have done their research as to how the original @actnearn upvotes work. Anything new is always as confusing as exciting they are.

I do believe that steem-engine and the idea of SMTs are going to do so much more fopr the steem blockchain in the near future. There is also space for more and newer sct, spt, pal and actnearn. It is a beautiful concept and a challenging one. So, choose your weapon warrior and go enjoy the diversity.
