July 28, 21: AutomaticWin, DoubleDay, Oculus, Movies, and Games
Well, have to admit that the unproductive days are starting to blur together. Today was more or less a carbon copy of yesterday. Although I am fairly consistently beating myself up for it (and for smoking), I don’t think I feel melancholy enough to call it a depression. Just existing and realizing that history will forget it.
I did get a solid night’s sleep, though…not been too bad lately! I didn’t drag, really, just not much motivated to do anything in particular; but I made it through without crashing…might, in part, be attributable to Red Bull, but never mind that. 😛
Not too much going on during the morning routine. My shittokens and DeFi stuff pretty much in exactly the same situation as yesterday and I didn’t make any moves, just let it sit. The interest rates on Aave flipped again and I was getting paid to borrow, but it’s gone back again since.
Kinda’ felt additionally bad that I haven’t gone out for a walk (or taken the dog), but did laps while I worked on my post to keep the #AutomaticWin alive. Had to do some hardcore jogging in place to get it done, but ended up with a few minutes to spare. 😄💪
Otherwise, not a lot. Chatted on Discord, watched a bit of YouTube, did some dishes and cleaned up a little, blahdy blahdy.
The hype around Splinterlands continued today. Was amazed when elliotrades started talking about it on his YouTube:
Definitely all over the cryptosphere…hope they thought this through to its consequences; the Eye of Sauron (regulators) is likely to turn our way now that we’re rocking the boat a little. 😱
After I did my post and grabbed some lunch was when I had to acknowledge that I didn’t want to do much of anything. So what’s the solution to that? Video games, of course, because playing will make my existence that much more meaningful in the long run. 😝
Played through another level and a half or so of Sniper Elite VR. I have to admit, slow motion x-Ray vision bullet damage in 3D doesn’t get old. Watching one explode through a dude’s eyeball at a hundred yards is incredibly satisfying (of some sinister part of myself I’d rather not admit to 😂).
Played for about as long as I could tolerate the motion and then quit out before it started to get to me too bad. Wobbly legs a couple times, but not terrible this time.
More or less spent the rest of the afternoon watching, or rather re-watching, some of the animated movies I’ve “watched” but fallen asleep during. Today it was Gnome Alone; good one, was fun and not very preachy (not really social engineering from what I could see, just a basic moral - like movies should be).
Seems like I put on something else, but I can’t remember now…had some bread and braunschweiger for dinner and a bowl of popcorn (dinner of champions!) but had a lot of steps left to go if I wanted to score another #DoubleDay. So, I went for it and did some laps while I played my Splinterlands quest.
That was about it. Once I got my steps in it was getting ready and going to bed time. I have, in the intervening time, been watching more tutorials on YouTube. I’ve got an understanding, I think, of what I need to do…now it’s just a matter of facing up to the hours of frustration proving to myself that I was wrong. 🤣
We got some multivariate dShitty calculus going on today! I think it’s the quad root of shittiness, divided by zero, plus infinity to the pi power integrated with respect to player disappointment cubed equals income implies thirty-three is fourty-four. Prove me wrong. 😛
Well, I actually remembered to go in to CryptoBrewmaster today, a couple times actually. Got the brew collected that I started yesterday. Just a common; sold it for four CBM and some change.
Same old, same old on Rising Star again today. Just missions and lessons trying to save up some Starbits and keep my Ego relatively low. It is starting to feel a little monotonous, but still keeping at for now.
Of course, as I mentioned before, the talk of the town these days is Splinterlands. Played quite a bit (loving the increased DEC rewards on battles) and made some strategic moves with my DEC.
Had a very frustrating losing streak in there and I almost rage quit, but call me a sucker, I kept on with it…gotta’ get that quest done!
Had Earth splinter for my quest today and got it done still basically hovering in the same spot in Diamond III. Got more potions than I would have liked, but a couple cards as well:
SPS is quite valuable at the moment (and likely for the time being only), so been considering what’s best to do with the airdrop. So far, I’ve just been staking everything to increase my income, but I should probably try and get something out while the hype lasts.
I realized I had more than ten thousand DEC sitting in VFTlab and whatever SPS holding it in game would be worth would greatly outweigh the return in VFT for holding it there, so I withdrew it and put it back into my Splinterlands account. Thinking I might try and sell off the difference I make between yesterday and today, we’ll see.
