Why i like digital art NFTs?

Because it is a opportunity for the artist do monetize there hard work. I think to many people don't realise how many hours it goes to this kind of projects and art, it should be more apricated. And NFTs are a good way to do so.

Also i like to collect (hurting my pockets..).

Im not really a art expert, nor i have a lot of blockchain experience but i like the concept and the transiency of having a prof who owns and who created the art piece.

For what do i want to use my digital art?

In short, for personal stuff.

  • As a wallpaper for my devices.
  • I will try to do a poster for my office. (if i need the picture in better quality I'm sure having now a better change contacting the artist wen he knows that i bought a copy of his art.)
  • I will use it online for blog posts, personal website and so on.

@nftshowroom has recognized that this is a need and ad's utility to the NFTs by giving the option to chose the licence format. ('Private' or 'Limited Reproduction Rights')

In my case:

'Limited Reproduction Rights' means the artist is selling the full commercial rights to the reproducibility of the art. This means the buyer can use the art for commercial projects, which could include making prints, t-shirt designs, website/blog graphics, etc. This does not mean that the purchaser could sell their own secondary licenses for the piece, or could retokenize it themselves. - https://nftshowroom.com/faq

But the smart reader would say: "Could you not simply downloaded the image and used it that way?"
That's right, but having the option of commercial use opens other opportunities. Imagine a cool t-shirt you could sell on a online shop, or if someone likes my poster in the office and i could sell him a print to. Yes i know this is maybe a little naive, but i hope you get my point.

Do I speculate on selling the bought NFT for a profit?

Probably, if the price is right i surely would do so. My main intention was not only the resell aspect of the NFT. But this is also a good part of it, i could if i wanted to. Im not sure how to finde a good buyer but it would be possible.

The artist issued 10 editions, so first the rest of needs to be sold first before thinking on reselling it.

What do you think about reselling NFTs? Are you someone who does that regular in the digital art space and could give me some good insides? I would be happy on any tips and tricks. 😃

What are my thought's on @nftshowroom ?

I visited some art blockchain platforms in the past. Mostly out curiosity, i think everybody here know rarible.com, superrare.co or makersplace.com. At this point i was just looking at the concepts of these platforms. Part of me was scared of the commissions that the platforms takes. some are greater then 15%. (i get it they need to survive and the development must go on.. but nerveless i as a client didn't liked it so much) * @nftshowroom collects for the first sale a 10% commission and for secondary market sales NFT Showroom collects a 10% commission and pays half of that as a royalty (5%) to the original artist. - good job an this one. 👍

Furthermore comes the gas fees on Ethereum that makes buying to this platform's and committing to stay there a nightmare.

I see a lot of competition, and @nftshowroom must improve, but i think the team is aware of that and they are in my opinion on a good track.

One negativ point that i notice in comparison to the other platform's is that the quality of the digital art NFTs is not yet at a high level. Sure some are astonishing and awesome, but i would say most of it are not there yet. (Sorry.. my dear artist friends. 😳) But i think this will improve in the near future.

Final Thoughts

I hope you enjoyed reading it, and i would like to ask you what kind of topics are you interested in? I started my Hive - Blockchain journey this year and im really curious what this ecosystem will bring us in future.

Thanks for the feedback it was great hearing your thoughts! On the quality of the art, we really wanted to give everyone who loves making art an opportunity and let the market decide what has value similar to rarible, but before the artist are allowed to tokenize we do a short verification process to try to avoid issues of plagiarism.

The best way currently to filter out art you don't like is start hitting the follow button so you can create your own personal feed, We are looking at making an artist directory and some better ways of content discovery as well so that will improve the browsing experience :)
