Stumbling across another NFT

Yesterday I had some downtime at work so opened up a couple of the games on my mobile phone that I have been playing lately more like more of lately.

I have always been a gamer since I was a child as I started going with my Dad to the arcades at a very young age. Used to watch him play Tron or Pac-Man way back then until I got a taste then it was my turn.

Fast forward back to the present and I have all the games you can imagine on my mobile phone to waste the time on when I have downtime. But recently I came across a new gaming genre not a new type of FPS or MMORPG but Block Chain Gaming.

With the new find I have dived into numerous articles online to learn more about it and downloaded a myriad of games from different block chains to see what it is all about.

A lot of the noise comes from what has been dubbed “P2E” what is known as Play To Earn and in these days with Covid-19 still rampant people have more time on their hands to explore different modes of work at home options.

So I confess I came to make a quick buck but with every new game that I find, download to my phone and play I have found myself playing more and more of these games. For the last couple of months I haven’t opened any of the mainstream games or what I like to call Block Chain-less games only the Block Chain games I have downloaded and new ones I come across everyday which brings me to the reason behind this blog post.

I opened up Discord to check out different chat servers of block chain games I am playing to get the latest info and to participate in all the chats, many great communities have sprung up to support a lot of these games with the devs engaging on a daily basis with the community which is a real positive aspect in my opinion of the whole ecosystem.

In the Splinterlands discord server I stumble upon this post shared by one of the devs of Splinterlands check it out if your interested:

I checked it out and learned about Blockchain Heroes then continued to do something I have learned about Block Chain “DYOR” Do Your Own Research and it peaked my interest so I am already investing money in Splinterlands to build up my deck and collection in game so what the heck I bought a couple of hundred more Untamed booster packs so I could be rewarded with some Blockchain Heroes Titan booster packs for free, just like a lot of people I like free.

Ok now I thought I have to wait for when the promotion ends so I can get my free packs to be able to check if I get any rare cards that might be worth anything. So in the mean time I continue researching about Blockchain Heroes and while doing it I have found out they have airdropped a lot of free cards through different promotions over the past months with a lot of different partners collaborating with them, such as Cointelegragh and Coingecko, which have spawn exclusive creations from that partnership which won’t be found in any of their booster packs sold.

Now I have come upon 3 of their similar promotions where you have the possibility to earn an exclusive card or cards and this is the reason for this blog post to share this info so everyone can participate and with a little luck get one of these airdropped into their Wax wallet.

Some of the tasks are like following their social media or like the one I am performing right now to write a blog post about it.
