Logic x Emotion = Dangerous

The most powerful combo is when we convince ourselves that our emotions are the correct answer.

Not that there's a lot wrong with following our gut, it promotes risk but also a chance of growth. But how many times have we done a stupid thing only because we told yourself it was okay?

The book "everything is f*cked" touches on this a lot. Our thinking brain and feelings brain should work independently but they don't. The logically brain will tell us not do it, our emotions will drive us to do the opposite. Mostly with the logic supporting emotions but creating a link or story. Erupting several problems along the way.

Maybe next time there's a big decision to be made. We let logic drive and the emotions can be the passenger.

Do you find yourself justifying your emotions regularly?

Take care, honey bears.

Kevin

I don't find myself justifying my emotions regularly, they're a response to whatever is going on but the only connection they have to decision making is providing adrenaline XD (even those decisions made in anger etc were still conscious decisions that were made, so I only academically understand people who were "so angry they couldn't help it", actually no I don't even academically understand that but I do try).

Unlucky with no legendaries but at least you got a gold? XD What do you do with your dupes?

With my dupes I'll either hold or level them up. I used to sell them but I don't get much back so better to hold

Your post reminds me of a "problem" I've been thinking about lately.

I find it interesting that people often seem to believe (with unjustifiable confidence) that their opinions are "objective".

The rather bizarre Orwellian concept of "objectivity" has somehow managed to worm its way into our language. Practically everyone falsely believes (with unjustifiable confidence) that "objectivity" exists and is an unquestionable ideal-high-goal and more so that their own beliefs are "more objective" or "fair and balanced" than their detractors, and beyond that, all their detractors are either being disingenuous, "are fundamentally and incurably stupid and/or evil", or intellectually deaf and blind. Case closed. Let's all go back to our bubbles. LINK

E-motion is the root of human motivation. Logical coherence is a framework we impose in an effort to mitigate the pitfalls of e-motion, but we can't fully eliminate e-motion itself.
