With problems and trials also comes opportunities
The Steem blockchain experienced a lengthy downtime yesterday, and with it we have seen the same negativity and complaining that we always do. I'm a glass half full guy, and I always like to see the opportunities behind each difficulty. So whilst I couldn't use any of the Steem dapps that I'm use to checking each day, I took the opportunity to spend some quality time with my family and enjoy some of my other hobbies.
I believe our mindset often determines our outlook and perspective on things. When we look to the opportunities and positives behind every situation, then we can smile even in the midst of difficulties and trials.
After almost a day of downtime, some of the dapps on Steem are finally coming back to life. And one of them being Steem Monsters. And if you were paying attention, the DEC payouts when Steem Monsters finally resumed again was huge! And if you were there to capitalize on the opportunity, then you would have been a happy camper. :)
I know it's not always easy, but let's try to see the opportunities and positives behind each problem and difficult circumstance.

... well spoken! There is always good uses of our time available all around us. I would imagine many of our Steemian friends got a much needed opportunity to catch up a little in other important areas of their lives.
Ending my day here and finding "life" is slowly returning to our Steem blockchain, I will be interested to learn the details of what took us down for such an extended period of time.
Earlier today, I briefly read through an exchange on Discord where one of our top 20 witnesses made mention of some account getting some ridiculous amount of Steem. So, at least part of the problem appears to be somewhere in some of our new EIP calculations ...

Yes, I think there’s a lot of us who wants to understand what happened to cause the chain to shut down.
Btw, which Discord channel did you see the exchanges between the witnesses? Do you have a link to the server? I’d be interested to know more details about which account received the Steem and what happened.

I was on Palnet's Discord server @nextgen622 and read this in their #mspwaves-audience channel. You can find it via Search on Marky at 1:18 PM yesterday.
P.S. I am almost never on Discord, due to the uhhh ... "stuff" normally found in the banter back and forth, but just happened to be clicking through various channels looking for some news on the problem and stumbled on it ... I am grateful for Discord generally, though, as it gives us a valuable resource and I have greatly appreciated and benefited from some of the DMs "in there" ...
P.P.S. Interesting to see your comment showing the Partico IOS footer. I sent my original message from Partiko Android, but it did not put their footer on it!
Btw, not sure about the Partiko footer. It automatically posts that for me when I post through Partiko. I’m assuming it should be there for you using Android too. But maybe there is a toggle where you can turn the footer on and off.
