Let's create a faucet from & by the people

Hi everyone,

This is the very first post in my way to creating a passive income. I think that cryptocurrencies offer a lot of possible passive earning methods: staking, investing, .. yet I never really felt comfortable with those. That's why I looked further.

How I got here

Back in 2017 my friends told me about cryptocurrencies. I became invested in the concept, the tech and the projects. It even got to a point where people asked us to stop talking about crypto. Ever since, I've invested bits and pieces in the world of digital valutas. It never really brought in any money, but the plan was always: HODL.

At the time I was still a student, and I worked in fast food to grow my investments. And to get the best out of college life. As a student I had some spare time and searched for different ways to grow my investments. That's when I came across faucets.

Faucets

I have tried and used a lot of faucets during this time. Coinpot and more, yet I always had a problem with the transparancy of these faucets. How much do you actually make per click, per view or per hour? I never really got a decent overview of my statistics.

And there is de lack of participation with the community. In my search for like-minded people, I learned of the concept NFT.

NFT

I first read about NFT or Non-Fungible Token but I was skeptical. I never really thougth much of it. Don't be my like guys! I only just started with NFT collections and I must say, I missed out on a lot of fun. Right now I'm activily playing 3 NFT based games.

There are: Splinterlands, Rising Star game and CryptoBrewMaster.

Splinterlands

Splinterlands is a game within the genre Autobattler. You pick cards among the mana you get and make them battle automatically. The strategic difference is made with the location and combination of cards. The difference between splinterlands and hearthstone for example is that the cards you obtain from packs or the cards you buy with DEC (the official currency of splinterlands.) remain yours and are tied to the account you play with. The DEC can be bought from the market, but you also earn it after every win in Ranked mode , or even after competiting in tournaments.

The initial investment is 10 bucks. Which is almost nothing for the hours of gameplay you get out of it.

Rising Star Game

Rising Star Game is another NFT game but more an idle game. You can do missions and earn Starbits, the currency of the game, while doing so. These missions also reward you with fans and skill. While growing your fans and skill you can become a bigger rockstar and make a bigger income. By investing your starbits back in to the game, you can make progress and continue your journey. There are more mechanics in this game, but if you want to find out about them you'll have to play.

CryptoBrewMaster

The last NFT game I rolled in to is CryptoBrewMaster. As Rising Star Game, CryptoBrewMaster is an idle game where you have to activate missions to get something in return. In this case you get ingredients. These ingredients are the ingredients needed to brew beers. Right now there are 3 main things you can do with the ingredients: You can sell them, you can hold them, or you can brew.

Sell

A player can sell the ingredients on the market. There is a market inside the game where people can buy and sell ingredients for the currency CBM.

Hold

A lot of players hold their items for special events. For example brewing events. Where the players have to brew as much beers as possible in a weekend, if you have a lot of ingredients, you can brew a lot of beers.

Brew

You can also use the ingredients in the brewhouse. Here you can add the right ingredients to craft a beer. Those beers, when drank, restore energy which makes it possible to do more missions thus obtain more ingredients. Or you can sell the beers in the store.

Where you want to sell the items, hold the items or brew with your items, the game is a nice passive mode of earning a currency on the hive-engine. Be sure to check it out using my link.

My own faucet

While we are mooning in the cryptoworld, I have been wondering: how can I help the community? Can I inform them somehow? Can I pay them somehow? Can I use my skills as a software developer somehow?

This whole path lead to the idea of creating my own faucet. The special thing would be transparancy. I want to create a faucet for the community, with the community, about the community. That's where you guys come in to play.

What bothers you about faucets? What would be a good percentage to divide between both parties? What would be a good name? Also, don't be affraid to give me some tips about the blog :)
