Riding Royal Enfield Bullet is pride in India. The history behind the legendary motorcycle is amazing. This is the only motorcycle has the longest manufacturing history. In India, bike lovers call Bullet as 'King of the roads.'

In November 1891 Bob Walker-Smith and Albert Eadie, Redditch begun manufacturing bicycles. They got a contract from Royal Small Arms Factory of Enfield to manufacture and supply of some important parts in arms manufacturing. To celebrate the prestigious order, they name their company Enfield Manufacturing Company Ltd.
They named their cycle Royal Enfield, because of the manufacturing of gun's parts in their industry they made a trademark - 'Made Like A Gun' for their cycles.

1900 Royal Enfield 's quadricycles enter the inaugural 1000 Mile Trial which made an awareness in the public of the British Empire.

1901 a rear wheel belt driven Royal Enfield motorcycle is produced with a half hp Minerva engine. From there they developed and manufactured many models.

1914 during World War I Royal Enfield supplied a large number of the motorcycle to the British army along with some other countries including the US, French, and Russia.

In 1932 the legendary motorcycle, the Royal Enfield Bullet model is born. 1939-1945 large number of bullets manufactured and supplied to during WWII, Royal Enfield's bike served in the military an important role, armies sent soldiers beyond enemy lines with these bikes, yes they dropped soldiers as well as their bikes through the air with specially designed parachutes.

While India was ruled by British and the British officers are given Royal Enfield motorcycles. High ranked officers were using those bikes at that time.

After independence Indian businessman K. R. Sundaram Iyer starts importing Royal Enfield bikes through his Madras Motors company.

In 1952 Madras Motor company imported 500 bikes for the independent Indian army, all the bikes were ridden by high ranked officers. Because of sturdy and low maintenance, the bikes were a hugely successful part of the army.

In 1956 Madras Motors started manufacturing Royal Enfield bikes with license and manufactured 163 Enfield India Bullets.1967 - 1970 Royal Enfield’s Redditch facility closes and the site sold to developers. This happened step by step within the years.1977 Enfield India begin exporting the 350 cc Bullet to the UK and Europe. Sales grow rapidly as the bike develops a following amongst classic motorcycle enthusiasts. Eicher Group took over the Enfield India Company in 1994, and they renamed the company Royal Enfield Motors Limited. In the remembrance of the legendary bike's history. After that the growth of the Royal Enfield Motors is remarkable, they made many Himalayan rides, campaigns, and tours with the prestigious owners of the Bullet bikes. They almost formed a community of Bullet owners. Bullet becomes a culture among the people who love bikes.

Even now the youngsters are mad at Bullet, they order the bike and wait for 4 to 5 months to get the order. In Indian Army still, Bullet has its vital role.
