My Weekend Splinterlands Freewrite Update 12/28/2019

The screenshot is of a Splinterlands Bronze Blunderbuss (NL) tournament that paid 32 places. There were 224 checked in entries and of the 32 places paid, 15 places were won by players with Championship points in their profile. 4 places were won by Diamond level players, 12 places by Gold level players, and 1 player was a Silver level player. Nothing is more frustrating than getting a first-round bye and you wait around for 15+ minutes, and then the challenger is a 5000 point Championship level player going against a 2900 point Gold level player. Splinterlands is growing and I believe I have a plan to keep new players interested. I may be full of shit and these suggestions can't be implemented, but I thought I would share them with you anyway. First the tournaments take too long, so no more first-round byes, everyone plays, whether is 60 entries or 400. We need to weed out at all levels so Championship level plays Championship level, Gold plays Gold, and so forth. Same with 2nd round. Beginning the 3rd round, the battles that finish first move forward, the last to finish battles may not advance depending on the payout places. The quicker you compete the better chance you get into the money. Also we need to pay more places! Some tournaments only pay 16 places, and as we have more than 16 Championship players on Splinterlands, we can't just cater to them even though they have the most money invested! I've collected all types of things in my lifetime, from Beanies to Hotwheels, and what kills a collection is when new collectors get bored. I don't want that to happen to Splinterlands.
