Splinterlands | Captain's Ghost - The Ruthless

avatar

Hi all,

I'm back again with a new Splinterlands post. Before diving into the fight that I used Captain's Ghost, I want to talk about something. I started playing the game in the middle of May. However, I played the games for 2 weeks without buying the Spell Book because I hesitated whether the game is worth putting that much money or not. The reason why I hesitated was due to the fact that I had never invested my money before playing for a long time. Yet, I did it and I bought the Spell Book.

After purchasing it, I started earning DEC tokens; trading cards, and doing daily quests. After a month I compensated 1/3 of the money that I put. It was incredible... Honestly, the game has no similar kind of worth investing one. In addition to in-game benefits, Splinterlands always does contests; distributes rewards, and does some other cool stuff. We deserve being No:1 Blockchain-based game of all time 😎

The Battle

The rules were in favor of me when I consider my existing cards. I love using Captain's Ghost and Sand Worm when one of the rules is "Reverse Speed".

Also, 38 mana was adequate for me to form a balanced team by using warriors with special skills.
For example, Void & Headwinds skills enabled my team to reduce the damage that the rival magic and ranged attackers. So, Naga Windmaster was there to prevent my rival to destroy my team with its powerful ranged attacks. Genie and Captain's Ghost were there to deal damage 😎

The Team

Torhilo the Frozen_lv1.png

Not surprisingly, Torhilo is given the first position. I wanted to use Torhilo because I foresee that my rival will rely on magic ability. Moreover, it's speed is too slow in reality. Yet, now that things are reversed; it's high time to shine for my lovely bull 😛 It could successfully protect the rest of the team as I expected.

Furious Chicken_lv1.png

Even though my chicken has no ability to deal damage, I love it when it can soar damage that would be dealt to anyone of my magic attackers or ranged ones. So, I choose to sacrifice it by putting it into the second position.

Captain's Ghost_lv1.png

What I love much about Captain's Ghost is that it can both deal with high damage and defend others for 2-3 rounds in the first line. Even though I did not need its Affliction skill, it's highly beneficial, too.

Sand Worm_lv1_gold.png

Sand Worm is Pandora's box. Sometimes it carries the match, sometimes it dies before dealing any single damage... Yet, Reverse Speed is its favorite rule 😌 Thanks to its snipe ability, I can distract the attackers dealing most of the damage in my opponent's team. I suggest everyone give a chance to this cute worm.

Sea Genie_lv1.png

Well, Genie completed its duty without any problem. I wanted to use it because, with the additional +1 Magic Ability, it deals 3 damage very quickly under the reverse speed rule. I'm happy with its performance. Even though it did not do something special, it performed perfectly.

Naga Windmaster_lv1.png

Naga was not there to kill everyone. In contrast, it was there to both reduce ranged damage of my opponent and take damage if there are sneaky warriors in my rival's team. In general, I use it in my deck mostly as the last card on the team.

What would I do differently if I did the same match?

Well, I may give Goblin Mech a chance in the first line in place of Torhilo, or I may use Sand Worm in the third position instead of Captain's Ghost. However, the dynamics of my team would be nearly the same as in this match.

✓ Balance your team for more mobility
Protect the attackers; Win the match..

That's my idiosyncratic secret 😌
