Splinterlands Card Review: Silvershield Bard.

Welcome to my blog where I'll share my winning match with Silvershield Bard in splinterlands. And with this post; I'm going to join SHARE YOUR BATTLE Weekly Challenge! Silvershield Bard.

This lady with a ukulele/guitar can scare away possessing spirits with her loud voice and that loud voice is referring to as Bards. And she doesn't only have that musical instrument in hand, if you look carefully then you'll be able to see a small dagger on her another hand which can be used to cut someone's throat easily. This lady needs only one mana to partake in a battle and she has the ability to remove all negative effects on the monster in the first position on the friendly team.

I used my Silvershield Bard is in level 1 with 2 speed and 1 health with the "Cleanse" ability.

- So, to explain my lineup... Why did I use the cards I did? And why in that order?
  Yeah about that... In this match; I've played with the life splinter.
Did your strategy work? What will you try differently next time?
- Yeah, my strategy worked out perfectly and I'll try to use similar helpful monsters next time if I need to.

A Brief Info About The Match

I've played eight battles with the Silvershield Bard in my lineup and after losing in 7 battles where I've tried various strategies, at last I won the last one.

The battles mana cap was 27 with the "Standard" rule where I've used the life splinter and my opponent used the death splinter against me.

My Lineup.

I had my Shieldbearer in level 1, Luminous Eagle in level 1, Truthspeaker in level 1, Silvershield Bard in level 1, Furious Chicken & Lunakari Mistress.

And my opponent had his/her cards as Haunted Spirit in level 1, Undead Priest in level 1, Death Elemental in level 1, Boogeyman (Gold) in level 1, Twisted Jester in level 1 & Dark Astronomer in level 1.

After I've lost 7 battles with similar strategies where I tried to give all my monsters the most shields support and I've previously used the Silvershield Paladin as a summoner to get an extra shield, then I've used the Truthspeaker for extra two shields and I even used the Armorsmith to support the shield of the front monster but I've failed in every place and I've noticed that most of my opponents were using magic monsters against my team so my monsters were losing health fast. So this time I tried the Mother Khala as summoner cause she offers +1 health to all friendly monsters and then I've used the Shieldbearer at the first position so that all monsters of my opponents try to attack it as this monster has the "Taunt" ability that provokes opponent monsters to attack it first if they are able to do it. Then I've used the Luminous Eagle with the "Reach & Flying" abilities at the second position so that it can attack from the second position and then takes the first position as well when the Shieldbearer dies and that Eagle is really a nice one. Then I've used the Truthspeaker only because she offers +2 shields to all friendly monsters for its "Protect" ability although it lasts only till she dies. Then I've used the Silvershield Bard, Then the Chicken, and at last I've used the Lunakari Mistress with a big health and magic attacks.

Let me talk about monsters that I used in this battle.

No 01: SHIELDBEARER ^{Rare Life Monster}

It's about Shieldbearer, man. He is mighty, he is not scared of anyone and he is a brave soldier who fights for his team from the front side and who doesn't think twice before he needs to sacrifice himself for his team. Yeah, Shieldbearer is such a warrior with great powers.

Being a melee attacker, he attacks from the front side and defends his team. This warrior doesn't know how to lose the battle but he knows how to sacrifice himself for his team.

My Shieldbearer is in level 1 with 2 melee attacks, 2 speed, 4 shields & 9 health with "Taunt" ability and it needs 8 mana.

No 02: LUMINOUS EAGLE ^{Rare Life Monster}

I used Silvershield Warrior almost in every battle with life splinter because of its "reach" ability and then I've found out this amazing eagle with "reach" ability which I started using recently when I get extra mana cap battle as it needs 2 more mana than Silvershield Warrior although it has better powers.

With its "flying" ability in level 1, it can be so helpful in a battle with the "Earthquake" ruleset.

My LUMINOUS EAGLE is in level 2 with 3 melee attacks, 3 speed, 5 health with "Reach & Flying" ability and it needs 6 mana.

No 03: TRUTHSPEAKER ^{Rare Life Monster}

Truthspeakers are mainly priests of Khymian. Her appearance is more like an assassin from my favorite video game series assassins creed... yeah she reminds me of that game. So from the lore, we learn that they speak talk in every language and they usually speak in tongues and they communicate directly with the Angel Realm. This monster has the "Protect" ability which offers +2 shields to all of her colleagues on the battlefield and that's why she is so precious on the battlefield but that extra shield works till this monster dies so she needs to be alive for a long time.

My TRUTHSPEAKER is in level 1 with 2 speed & 1 health with the "Protect" ability and it needs 3 mana.

No 05: Furious Chicken ^{(Rare Neutral Monster)}

This is the card that I use when there's a slot left but no mana left. I mean its service is great for free I suppose. Right now... I can't imagine playing a match without this card.
It's like the chicken that lays the golden egg. It provides great support with its counterattack. With 0 mana... it's just amazing.

My Furious Chicken is in level 1 with 1 speed, 1 health and It needs 0 mana to play.

No 06: Lunakari Mistress ^{(Epic Life Monster)}

This mistress is from the life splinter and she's really powerful. I'm remembering the character named Storm from the X-Men movie when I'm seeing the appearance of this mistress cause I feel like she looks like that character with all the magical bolts in her hands. She does double damage when attacking an enemy that has no attack with the help of her "Oppress" ability.

I've used this monster in level 1 on the battlefield with 2 magic attacks, 2 speed 6 health and it needs 6 mana to join a battle.

In my personal opinion... Silvershield Bard is a nice fit for the ruleset with some supportive monsters.

For the special buff of my summoner Mother Khala, all my monsters got +1 health each and nothing happened for the special buff of my opponent's summoner. Then for the "Weaken" ability of the Undead Priest of my opponent, all my monsters lost the extra health that they got from my summoner, and for the "Slow" ability of the Boogeyman of my opponent, all my monsters that had more than 1 speed, lost 1 speed each. Then for the "Protect" ability of my Truthspeaker, all my monsters got +2 shields each. Then... Death Elemental of my opponent started the battle with its first attack on my Shieldbearer and killed the monster and following that monster, the Twisted Jester and the Haunted Spirit of my opponent also attacked my Shieldbearer and destroyed 4 shields out of 6. Then my Luminous Eagle attacked and killed two health of the Haunted Spirit of my opponent. Then my Lunakari Mistress also attacked and killed 2 more health of that Haunted Spirit of my opponent. Then the Boogeyman of my opponent attacked and killed 2 health and the Dark Astronomer attacked and destroyed the last shields of my Shieldbearer. Then my Shieldbearer attacked and killed 2 health of the Haunted Spirit of my opponent and then all the negative effects got removed out of my Shieldbearer for the "Cleanse" ability of my Silvershield Bard and they've finished the beginning round after all.

A new round began and after digesting two attacks, my Shieldbearer attacked and killed the Haunted Spirit of my opponent, and there I got surprised seeing that Haunted Spirit didn't heal any health even though it had the "Heal" ability and there was not negative effect on it so I'm still confused about why it happened like this. Then the Undead Priest of my opponent came forward to the first place and together with my Luminous Eagle and Lunakari Mistress attacked and killed that priest without mercy and with killing it, my all my monsters got back the health that they lost for that "Weaken" ability of the Undead Priest of my opponent. Then together the Boogeyman and the Dark Astronomer of my opponent attacked and killed my Shieldbearer and then my Luminous Eagle came forward to the first position and with the "Cleanse" ability of my Silvershield Bard, now all the negative effects of my Luminous eagle got removed as the Silvershield Bard offers that to the first positioned monster of the friendly team. Then the Death Elemental of my opponent started the new round by attacking my Shieldbearer and then the Twisted Jester of my opponent attacked and destroyed the Shields of my Truthspeaker.

Then my Shieldbearer attacked and killed the Death Elemental of my opponent. Then my Lunakari Mistress attacked the Boogeyman of my opponent and the Boogeyman returned the favor on my Luminous Eagle. Then the Dark Astronomer attacked my Shieldbearer but it missed the target. Then the Twisted Jester of my opponent started the new round by killing my Truthspeaker and all my monsters lost the shields instantly that they got from the "Protect" ability of the Truthspeaker. Then my Luminous Eagle attacked and killed the Boogeyman of my opponent and all my monsters got back their lost speed that they lost because of the "Slow" ability of the Boogeyman. Then my Lunakari Mistress attacked and killed half health of the Twisted Jester of my opponent. The Dark Astronomer attacked and killed 2 health of my Luminous Eagle out of 3.

And then my Luminous Eagle started the new battle and attacked and killed the Twisted Jester of my opponent and I got sure that I was gonna win the battle as my opponent had only one monster alive and that's a ranged monster and we know that ranged monsters can't attack from the first position. My Lunakari Mistress attacked and killed half the health of the last monster of my opponent and then my Luminous Eagle finished him off at the very beginning of another new round.

The battle got finished in round 6 while my team still had 4 monsters alive along with the Silvershield Bard. All my monsters did great on the battlefield.

By playing this match, I won +0.12 Dec and +36 League Rating.
