THE SENTRY DRAGON ♥

Inspired by Shin-Lo's letter, I decided to make an original character that could be a family of this dragon.

I think that of all the fanarts or entries that I have done for the @splinterlands art contest, that of shin-lo has been the one that I have drawn the most, that explains my taste for oriental dragons.

THE SKETCH

After taking some references about shin-lo and of course, other eastern dragons, I built mine in a kind of night sky. At first I was not very clear about it, so I made some crazy scratches to see what my subconscious was telling me and in the meantime I found an order.

Once it was clear to me, it was just a matter of starting to paint it, I didn't want to make it red because I wanted to build a different oriental dragon so I took green to contrast this part.

I had many doubts whether to make it flakes or make it a jelly-like skin, but in the end I went for the former.

Little by little I was building the body and then I was focusing on the look, because it had to be a look of fury and power. It was a sentinel dragon, it guarded the night skies where other dragons slept.

I decided to integrate two masks similar to the one in the theater, representing the fury of the dragons but at the same time their joy and kindness to protect their loved ones. Good and bad, in perfect communion.

I had so much fun making this dragon, it is one of my favorite mythological animals, I hope you like it!

EL DRAGÓN CENTINELA♥

Inspirado por la carta de Shin-Lo decidí hacer un personaje original que pudiese ser familia de este dragón.

Creo que dentro de todos los fanarts o participaciones que he hecho para el concurso de arte de @splinterlands, el de shin-lo ha sido el que más he dibujado, eso explica mis gustos por los dragones orientales.

EL BOCETO:

Luego de tomar algunas referencias sobre shin-lo y por supuesto, de otros dragones orientales, construí el mío en una especie de cielo nocturno. Al principio no lo tenía muy claro, así que fui haciendo algunos rayones locos para ver qué me iba diciendo mi subconsciente y entre tanto desorden encontré un orden.

Una vez lo tuve claro, solo fue cuestión de empezar a pintarlo, no quería hacerlo rojo pues quería construir un dragon oriental diferente así que tomé el verde para contrastar esta parte.

Tuve muchas dudas si hacerle escamas o hacerle una piel gelatinosa, pero al final me fui por lo primero.

Poco a poco iba construyendo el cuerpo y luego me iba enfocando en la mirada, pues debía ser una mirada de furia y poder. Era un dragón centinela, cuidaba los cielos nocturnos donde dormían los demás dragones.

Decidí integrar dos mascaras parecidas al de el teatro, representando la furia de los dragones pero a su vez la alegría y amabilidad de éstos por proteger a sus seres queridos. Bien y mal, en perfecta comunión.
