Splinterlands Card Review: Coral Wraith.

Welcome to my blog where I'll share my winning match with Coral Wraith in splinterlands. And with this post; I'm going to join SHARE YOUR BATTLE Weekly Challenge! Coral Wraith.

THEME: CORAL WRAITH
Edition: UNTAMED
Rarity: EPIC
Element: WATER
ATTACK: MAGIC
ABILITIES: Sneak at level 1; Rust at level 4

Coral Wraith is a water monster that I never thought of using on the battlefield as I don't play with the water splinter. But @carrieallen chose this monster for this week's battle challenge so I also chose to play with this water witch. I got this monster from an untamed pack that I opened recently and then I was going to sell her but somehow I delayed in selling her and then I had to keep her for some more times after I've seen the theme card of the battle challenge.

My Coral Wraith is in level 1 with 2 magic attacks, 2 speeds & 2 health with the "Sneak" ability, and she needs 4 mana to do a battle.

Go on check out this card from Splinterlands Market if you wish to.

Yeah about that... In this match; I've played with the water splinter.
  4. Did your strategy work? What will you try differently next time?
    • Yeah, my strategy worked out perfectly and I'll try to use similar helpful monsters next time if I need to.
  5. Share your post to some OTHER Social Media sites.
    • I'm going to share this post with the #splinterlands hashtag on Twitter after publishing this post.

A Brief Info About The Match

The battles mana cap was 22 with the "Standard" rule where I've used the water splinter and my opponent used the dragon splinter with the earth team against me.

My Lineup.

I had my Sea Monster in level 1, Furious Chicken in level 1, Ice Pixie in level 1, Coral Wraith in level 1 & Water Elemental in level 1.

And my opponent had his/her cards as Unicorn Mustang in level 1, Barking Spider (Gold) in level 2, Creeping Ooze in level 1, Mantoid in level 1 & Furious Chicken in level 1.

It seemed that my opponent had so much faith in his/her Unicorn Mustang as there's only one melee monster there with ranged and no attacks.

Let me talk about monsters that I used in this battle.

No 01: Sea Monster (Common Water Monster)

I don't play with the water splinter that much but whenever I used to play with this splinter, I knew that Sea Monster should be at the front position as with its great power, it can take great responsibility. I think, with proper strategy, this monster can be a great asset, especially in the big mana cap battle. Having the"Heal" ability unlocked at the first level, this monster can be a nice supporter for the team with its big melee attack. Its "Heal" ability helps it to restore a portion of the monster's health each round which unlocks at level 1 with 1 card.

Right now, my Sea Monster is in level 1 which offers me 4 melee attacks, 1 speed & 8 health with "Heal" ability and it needs 8 mana to play.

No 02: Furious Chicken (Rare Neutral Monster)

This is the card that I use when there's a slot left but no mana left. I mean its service is great for free I suppose. Right now... I can't imagine playing a match without this card.
It's like the chicken that lays the golden egg. It provides great support with its counterattack. With 0 mana... it's just amazing.

My Furious Chicken is in level 1 with 1 speed, 1 health and It needs 0 mana to play.

No 03: Ice Pixie (Rare Water Monster)

This is the water monster that I don't use that often but I know it can be a fantastic asset especially in a little league ruleset for being a low mana monster and it has nice powers at high levels. My Ice Pixie is in level 1 that has 1 magic attack, 3 speed & 1 health with the "Flying" ability.

No 04: Coral Wraith (Epic Water Monster)

No 05: Water Elemental (Rare Water Monster)

This is the second-best health healer of the water splinter that I used so far while the Sea Monster should be the 1st place holder. Water Elemental looks like the sandman of Spider-Man movie but with water. It looks scary and it has nice power. Water Elemental needs 5 mana for battle and I'm using this monster in level 1 to share a battle. My Water Elemental is in level 1 with 2 ranged attacks, 4 speed & 4 health.

  • In my personal opinion... Coral Wraith is a nice fit for the ruleset with some supportive monsters.

As I needed to use a magic monster so I used the summoner who gives +1 magic attack to all magic monsters. For the special buff of my summoner, two of my magic attack monsters got +1 magic attack each and my opponent's summoner didn't have any special buff to show or give. Then for the special "Slow" ability of Creeping Ooze of my opponent, all my monsters that had more than 1 speed lost 1 speed each. Then... for being the most speed holder, the Unicorn Mustang of my opponent started the battle with its first attack on my Sea Monster and killed 3 health. Then my Water Elemental attacked the opponent's unicorn and it seemed like it was avenging the attack on its colleague. Then my Ice Pixie attacked the same opponent monster after that although she was about to kill 2 health of the unicorn but the attack got reduced for the special "Void" ability of that unicorn. Then the GF Barking Spider attacked and killed a single health of my Sea Monster. And now the Mantoid of my opponent grilled my chicken with one shot. And right after that, my Coral Wraith attacked and grilled the chicken of my opponent and it seemed like... a stone for a stone.

Then my Sea Monster gained back some health using the special "Heal" ability and attacked the closest opponent monster with a big melee attack but it missed the target. Then another round came and it was time for the unicorn of my opponent to attack my Sea Monster again and it killed 3 health of my Sea Monster again. Then my Water Elemental and Ice Pixied attacked and killed 3 more health of that unicorn of the opponent. And then the Barking Spider of my opponent attacked my Sea Monster again and it was like the cycle was circling. This time the Mantoid of my opponent attacked and killed my Ice Pixie and my Coral Wraith then tried to avenge the death of the Ice Pixie but couldn't do it with one shot. Then my Sea Monster gained back some health again and attacked the same monster again which it missed the other time but this time it didn't miss the target. Yeah, my Sea Monster attacked and killed the Unicorn Mustang of my opponent with one shot, and there came the turning point of this battle. The Barking Spider of my opponent came forward to the first position but it was unable to do anything but taking hits from the first position for being a ranged attacker. This time my Water Elemental started the new round with the first attack. Then Mantoid of my opponent attacked and killed my Coral Wraith.

Then my Sea Monster gained back some more health and attacked and killed the Barking Spider of my opponent with one shot. Then the Creeping Ooze of my opponent came forward to the first position and got killed by my Water Elemental right after it came there.

At this point, the Mantoid of my opponent looked so helpless in front of my Sea Monster with a big melee and there's my Water Elemental as well. My Sea Monster opened its big mouth and swallowed the tiny Mantoid in a second.

The battle got finished in round 4 while my team still had 2 monsters alive. All my monsters did great on the battlefield.
