Hi folks! Another season just came to an end in Splinterlands. For the first time after a few months I decided to leave the Bronze league and started playing in the Silver: while I truly enjoyed milking good rewards at the end of the season, I started to find it quite boring.
Silver League is much more hard than expected, even bots have a better deck than mine (!), and many of the strategies that worked perfectly in Bronze needed adjustements in the Silver. I really hope in a couple of months to start milking rewards also in Silver, making the top 25 on a regular basis.

So at this point I'm actually enjoying playing more than ever, winning battles is quite hard and I'm working on new techniques and cards. Speaking of what... have you heard we have a another Share Your Battle Weekly Challenge?

This week card I have it in my deck since a very long time, but i honestly don't use that much. We're talking about Naga Fire Wizard: quite an expensive card to evoke in term of mana (8), which comes at level 1 with limited speed (1), magic attack (2) and a always useful shield ability.

This characteristics makes Naga Fire Wizard quite a unique card, which I honestly find hard to play in many situations. I guess I'm not the only one, as I don't see this card being played often. Naga Fire Wizard can be used as a backup tank in high mana cap battles or as a primary tank in medium mana cap battles, although quite risky.

To me there's just one particular situation in which this card becomes quite powerful, when Reverse Speed ruleset comes in the gameplay.
This turns our buddy Naga Fire Warrior in a valuable asset.

NAGA FIRE WIZARD AS AN INVESTMENT

This card comes quite cheap on the market, like many others Reward Edition, at 0.24$ for a level 1 card, with similar market value and low buy level. Same for Low Buy level compared to Low Buy level per BCX: Naga Fire Wizard is always around 0.20$ per level.
The card has a regular volume, being traded for a total value of 100$ in the last month, which means the price is not rising much but you'll be always sure to sell this card when needed.

As you may know, I'm focusing on buying cards which are more used in the game: those cards are more likely to have a price spike in the next future.

I decided to use Naga Fire Wizard as a backup tank in battle with reverse speed ruleset, covering Living Lava's back. This idea to have two consecutive cards with shield ability can be a risk, but also turn out to be extremely useful if your enemy doesn't use a lot of sneak abilities.

My summoner for this battle was Malric Inferno, basically because it's the highest level Summoner I have speaking of Fire.
I then combined the two tanks with Zalran Efreet and his growing health, Kobold Miner to attack the bottom of my enemy's lineup, Goblin Shaman to lower enemy's health, and my usual Halfling Alchemist, always a good buddy for Living Lava.

The idea was to neutralize enemy's tank to let Zalran Efreet health grow while attacking both sides of my enemy's lineup.

The strategy worked pretty good, and I easily won this one!
