Splinterlands - Opened 5 Untamed packs to make use of the portions

With the DEC that I had, I purchased 5 untamed packs from the market. I was holding them with me for some time looking for the right opportunity to open them. With the portions that we now get from the quest rewards and season end rewards, opening packs is the only way to use them. We can also have them enabled in the season rewards and quest rewards but it will not be good for us because there will only be a limited number of cards from the loot chests and we cannot guarantee that every loot chest will bring at least one card.

The portions will not be applied only for the cards but for the loot chests as well. So, it is not wise to use it on daily quest rewards and season end rewards. We will end up wasting the portions.

Out of the 5 packs that I opened, 3 packs had a gold foil card in it and 1 gold foil card in that was a rare card. There was no legendary or epic card in the packs. If you look at the stats above, I spent around 10000 DEC to purchase these packs. The overall value I got back in DEC is 9132 which is less than 10,000 DEC. I can say that I'm in a loss of around 1000 DEC in opening this pack. But I believe this will be compensated in the future while opening some other pack. Below is the analysis of my pack opening. One good thing to note in this pack opening is that I also received a few summoners from these packs. I'm not thinking of upgrading some of my untamed summoners instead of completely relying on the beta summoners. Another reason for thinking this way is that the untamed summoners are cheaper compared to that of beta summoners. I have been already spending lots of money on purchasing beta summoners.
