The Onyx Sentinel guards the portal to the Splinterlands | Art Contest Week 99
My digital art process consists in the fact that I have taken an original character from the game and embed it with some special effects within a photography that is contextual to what he represents. In this case the Onyx Sentinel guards the portal to the Splinterlands and is will to do everything in its powers to stop dark matter monsters. And as one already went to the Portal, he prepares to fight it invoking electric thunders.
The art requires a strong link to Splinterlands and for this purpose I've added also the game logo along with the character name and let it dissolve into the colors of the picture. This is the base digital art which I have taken further and based on its context I've animated it to better emphasize the characters and give life to the story. In this case I've used thunders to show of what the Onyx Sentinel can do.
