Splinterlands - SHARE YOUR BATTLE Weekly Challenge - Theme: Scale Doctor

It's been the Beta cards getting featured in last few Weekly Challenges of SHARE YOUR BATTLE and this time, we have an Untamed version monster which, I feel one of the less used monsters from Dragon Splinter and it's Scale Doctor.

Scale Doctor is a Legendary Dragon Splinter monster belonging to Untamed version and it's a ranged attack monster known for it's abilities rather than the ranged attack.

As we can see above, it's a monster with just 4 levels and has single ranged attack, 2 speed and 7 health across all 4 levels.

Best part of this monster is the abilities it has like Strengthen, Triage, Rust and Repair.

Strengthen as we know, increases the health of all monsters by One.

Triage heals a second line monster which has taken maximum blow.

Rust is relatively new ability introduced and it removes the armors of the monsters from opponent's lineup.

Last but not least, Repair just restores the armors of a monster either from Front or Second line monsters which has taken maximum damage.

Battle and Lineup:

The ruleset was simple, just use monsters with odd health and there was enough MANA of 42 to build a nice lineup and I created one as shown below.

Lineup:

1. Robo-Dragon Kinght:

This newly introduced Legendary Dragon monster is one to watch out for as it has health of 10 with 10 armors to compliment that health and all important thing is, it gives 4 melee attack to start with and has wonderful abilities like void, pierce and shielded.

2. Orc Sergeant:

Orc Sergeant is the monster I use most in second position from Earth splinter since it gives that inspire ability to increase the melee attack by 1.

It also give important 2 melee attack and has good health of 6.

3. Screeching Vulture:

Another most used monster from Earth splinter because of it's ability of Scavenge and Opportunity besides being a Flying monster.

4. Dragon Jumper:

My second monster with Opportunity ability which gives a very good melee attack of 5 and is another flying monster.

5. Spirit of the Forest:

As the MANA cap allowed, I used this monster which besides being a tank heal monster, it is also a snipe ranged attack attack monster and give 2 armors as well.

6. Scale Doctor:

Last but not least, the theme monster for this week, Scale Doctor, a level 1 monster is all I have, which gives just Strengthen ability with single ranged attack.

Opponent used Selenia Sky Summoner with monsters Lord Arianthus, Gold Dragon, Divine Healer, Dragon Jumper, Silvershield Assassin and The Vigilator among his lineup.

Battle:

Opponent's lineup includes some of the best monsters with a mix of melee, ranged and magic monsters which even have sneak, opportunity and blast abilities.

Here we go with round by round details of the battle:

Round 1:

Use of 2 opportunity monsters always augurs well in any lineup and I had the flexibility of having Screeching Vulture and Dragon Jumper in my lineup and they both accounted for healer Divine Healer in round 1 itself.

Round 2:

The second saw a couple of monsters getting removed. Opponent's lineup had 2 poison monsters and those poisoned 2 of my monsters in Scale Doctor and Robo-Dragon Knight.

Scale Doctor was the first to go in this round removed by Dragon Jumper and opponent lost Lord Arianthus and Dragon Jumper.

Round 3:

Round 3 was same as round 2 as we saw 2 more monsters getting removed.

While opponent lost Gold Dragon, Robo-Dragon Knight fell down from my side.

Round 4:

Remaining 2 monsters from opponent's lineup having 2 and 6 health respectively got removed without much sweat.

That gave an easy win for me with 4 of my monsters remaining alive.

Question Answer time:

Did my strategy work? What will I try differently next time?

Well, the result is visible, and yes, the strategy I used worked well starting with Robo-Dragon Knight till use of Scale Doctor in last position and the win was a satisfactory one.

What I would have tried differently? I think Scale Doctor is a bit of weak link there without much of attack for the level one monster I have and not even the special abilities with just Strengthen being active for it. So, I could have used a monster like Javelin Thrower instead of that :)

Do you like the SCALE DOCTOR? Why or why not?

NO, I used it for the first time, as all I have is a level 1 monster and doesn't provide much of abilities.

Probably, it will be more useful when leveled up.

That was some battle with all those BIG monsters in there including Robo-Dragon Knight and even The Vigilator there.
