I got quite lucky to get one of the Golden Foil Captain's Ghosts early on after it was released. The way I have gone about playing Spintlerlands is to play on 2 accounts, my main account has summoners at level 5 with mostly regular cards while on my alternate account has Level 3 Summoners and is aimed much more at playing gold cards. So pretty much every Gold Foil card I earn or buy is sent over there. For as far as reward cards go, I never sell them but level them up on my main account (the captain's ghost is now at level 3 there) once I'm at max level for my summoners I continue collecting them to delegate out to future players who end up signing up with my Referral Link.
So on to tha battle. The main game rule was that no Melee Attack monsters coule be used which made me choose for my most powerful Arlic Stormbringer Water Summoners which costs 3 mana and gives all monsters +1 Magic Damage. I only have a Level 1 Lord Arianthus on my alt account but it's good enough as a card in fist spot as it takes reduced both Melee and Ranged damage. The Prismatic Energy is a must Magic Card in 2d position followed by the Captain's Ghost and the most powerful card of them all the Ruler Of The Seas. To end the deck I opted for the Water Elemental with Self Heal, Ranged damage, and fast speed.
Overall a fairly easy win because my opponent played too many ranged attack monsters which are useless once they get in the first position.

Important: Treat games in the first place as games and not as investment opportunities, Splinterlands allows you to earn some money and get good returns but you are much better off flipping burgers in Mcdonalds when looking at the money earned for the time invested.
