Here's the Secret Sauce Thats Missing from an Octopider Team
I was matched up against a death team recently and i got totally smashed, so i went back to see what happened and sure enough he has playing the Octopider in the last position and dealing me a lot of damage and at the same time my sneak attackers seamed as if they were striking air.
So after licking my wounds from that battle it was time for my turn to bring this monster up to level three so he get the Demoralize ability, then wait for a high mana battle and in we go.
Featured Battle Monster OCTOPIDER
- Edition: REWARD
- Rarity: RARE
- Element: DEATH
- ATTACK: RANGED
- ABILITIES: Demoralize at level 3; Blind at level 7
Team Lineup
Try to pick you team so they work together or build of each others abilities, for example Goblin Mech in tanks position he is backed up by the Bone Golem with Shield Repair ability. Prismatic Energy in second spot mostly to attract any enemy sniper's both range and magic. Sand Worm behind the Bone Golem to inflict large and heavy damage to the back position monster. Next the Phantom Soldier fires magic and also reduces magic attack on the enemy, last place goes to Octopider, demorolize reduces enemy melee attack and packs in a three point range attack.
I am fairly confident at this point.
- Goblin Mech
- Prismatic Energy
- Bone Golem
- Sand Worm
- Phantom Soldier
- Octopider
Battle Roundup
After all Buffs and De-buff have been applied, including a speed increase from my opponent, but even with this my team gets off to a perfect start with two powerful magic attacks, by passing his tanks shields and almost taking it out. octopider takes down his shields and then finished off by the goblin mech.
Next Sand Worms from both teams exchange blows, then my bone Golem restores my Tanks Shields (Love it when that happens).
Round two repeats like a four way hit magic - magic - range then Tanks, all before the opponent makes a move, Bone Golem restoring the Mechs shields helps a lot, combined with the lack of magic attack on the opponents team, this was another mistake on his part.
Secret Sauce
Double up on Demoralize and ADD Magic Attack

Conclusion
What can you learn from my strategy? If you follow my guides you will start to see a pattern coming through, I will pick the cards that work together and build on each others strengths. Make sure to play into the rulesets and try to anticipate what your opponent's team might look like and counter it.
This was a 99 Mana battle but don't automatically pick your highest mana cards, I you look at my line up notice that each monster will attack or trigger an ability on every round.
See the opponent Goblin Mech in the middle of the pack not doing anything till he gets to the front, thats a mistake you cant afford to make.

There I was thinking she always had demoralize. I guess that's what you get starting with a gold foil one. 🤣 Next step level 7.
Lucky you a gold one starts at level three, I thought he was a he?
It looks like a female redback to me so, I associated it as she. 😆
Matt delegated a few cards to get me started and most were golds. I've now got my own gold octopider, but the standard is levelled up more.

A big spider you have 🕷️🕸️🕸️🕷️ with demoralized and less melee attack by the summoner is the best card combination.
Once again, and excellent observation, strategy and an opportunity to learn from your initial mistakes. Excellent post!
Thanks buddy, appreciate the feedback
