How the most underrated (and my favorite) DICE card opens up an amazing team

A lot of mana is not available in every battle. This weird but very effective tank is incredibly useful in many, many rulesets! Check out the Frost Lion and some suggestions on how to put him to good use in the Splinterlands Crypto Game.

Frost Lion

You might think Frost Lion is useless, but he is one of hell of a beast. Certainly not if you don't use him with some synergy, but when you pair him up with a Tower Griffin, you're suddenly looking at a 2-mana SHIELD monster with 7 hp. You can also use Crustacean King for an additional +2. Sum all of that into the "+2 armor to every monster" ruleset which I can't remember the name of, and you've got a gigantic, humongous bully!

But why stop there? Do not forget about the particularly powerful legendary summoner Lir Deepswimmer. Does Frost Lion look dangerous yet? You've still got plenty of team slots to fill with damage. If there is one team formation really good at beating Yodin Zaku, I'm betting this is it! And even so, amazing as all this is, there's still plenty of room to strategize around the frozen jungle's king. I guess this is why there are so many new monsters with the Shatter ability lately.

You can still fit him into many other compositions, depending on the ruleset. Sometimes you're focused on getting the damage in when you're creating a team for an Equalizer match, but there just seem to be a readily-available tank. Well, Frost Lion gets a gigantic health boost in that game mode, but he still has Shield to make up for the lack of armor. That makes him the one of the best tanks available in this situation, even if you consider other splinters.

Not good enough? I've got one more for you. In a combination of Little League with Melee Mayhem or Super Sneak, you can combine him with a Tortisian Fighter at the second or last position! His Repair will boost Frost Lion's tankiness by tons. Leaving Frost Lion as your main tank will defend you from rapid magic attacks. Of course, boosting his armor using one of the aforementioned monsters is necessary to ensure he lasts through the first couple of rounds.

Of course, I'm putting my money where my mouth is, as I've just bought enough BCX to combine them into a level 6. Yes!

EDIT: There's one more really positive thing to be said about frost lion: opportunity monsters will focus him down. Because he's so low on HP, everyone else will be safe!

Now THAT my friend is some seriously good strategising!

That card is most definitely undervalued. Even what is effectively 10 protection points from 2 mana is amazing!

Thank you. I think it's an easy strategy to pick up for diamond/champion because Tower Griffin is already considered a very good card at those leagues.

As much as I want to use Dice cards, it requires so many to level them up. So I just end up with the same old cards from before.

Thanks for sharing! - @marianaemilia

Wow!! I hadn't thought about it, there are really a lot of underestimated cards, I think because of the lack of knowledge, because they are recent, but over time I believe that everyone will start using.
